"Final Destination 3" ist für mich fast genauso nostalgisch wie der fantastische Erstling und war damals auch mein lieblingsteil der Reihe. Aus heutiger Sicht muss ich sagen das mir der erste Teil dann doch deutlich mehr gibt und qualitativ auch einfach deutlich besser ist. Ja der dritte Teil hat deutlich bessere Kills, aber junge sind die Charaktere hier schon absolut austauschbar und auch echt scheiße gespielt, was tatsächlich auch schon im zweiten Teil anfing. Alles was ich an "The Final Destination" und "Final Destination 5" kritisiert habe trifft auch auf die Figuren hier zu. Das war irgendwie so eine komische Art der Darstellung in der 2000er Jahren das man Charaktere so Schrill und so nervig wie möglich gemacht hat. So hat man hier zum Beispiel den absolut komischen und abstoßenden Typen mit der Kamera, der die ganze Zeit zwei Mädels auf dem Rummel belästigt, oder eben auch diese beiden Mädels die absolut überzeichnet und nervig sind. Ich hab echt nie verstanden warum man sich auch bei Filmen in denen das nicht Primär wichtig ist ein bisschen Mühe gibt, das würde einfach alles unglaublich aufwerten.

Naja kommen wir aber mal zu den positiven Sachen. Wie schon angesprochen sind die Kills in diesem Film absolute Spitze und mit die besten der Reihe. Ich will hier jetzt nichts spoilern, aber wirklich jeder Kill ist einzigartig und kreativ. Auch die Eröffnungsszene gehört wahrscheinlich zu einer meiner Lieblings Szenen der Reihe. Das Konzept mit den Bildern war auch mega geil, also in Sachen Innovation und Kreativität überzeugt "Final Destination 3" auf voller Linie.
Das Fazit ist also: Ich fand den Film als ich jünger war deutlich besser, aber vom Spaßfaktor und in Punkto Kreativität ist das hier mit einer der besten Filme der Reihe.

From today's perspective, I have to say that the first part gives me much more and is simply much better in of quality. Yes, the third part has much better kills, but the characters here are absolutely interchangeable and also played really badly, which actually already started in the second part. Everything I criticized about “The Final Destination” and “Final Destination 5” also applies to the characters here. It was kind of a weird way of portraying characters in the 2000s to make them as shrill and annoying as possible. So here, for example, you have the absolutely weird and repulsive guy with the camera who harasses two girls at the carnival all the time, or these two girls who are absolutely overdrawn and annoying. I've never really understood why people put a bit of effort into movies where that's not primarily important, it would just enhance everything incredibly.

Well, let's move on to the positive things. As already mentioned, the kills in this movie are absolutely superb and some of the best in the series. I don't want to spoil anything here, but really every kill is unique and creative. The opening scene is probably one of my favorite scenes in the series. The concept with the images was also mega cool, so in of innovation and creativity, "Final Destination 3" is convincing across the board.
So the bottom line is: I thought the movie was much better when I was younger, but in of fun factor and creativity, this is one of the best movies in the series.

Ich hätte fast wieder den Fehler gemacht und wie bei "The Guilty" das Amerikanische Remake vor dem Original gesehen. Dieses mal hab ich es dann doch zum glück anders rum gemach (hab das Remake jetzt aber noch nicht gesehen). Auch hier ist es wieder ei Dänischer Film und ich glaube ich hab schon oft genug betont wie sehr ich Dänische Filme und Filmemacher verehre. Ich hatte also hohe Erwartungen an "Speak No Evil".

Was von Sekunde eins auffällt, ist die wahnsinnig geile und bedrückende Atmosphäre, denn auch schon am Anfang merkt man zwar sehr dezent, aber deutlich das hier was nicht in Ordnung ist. Verbunden mit dem tollen Zusammenspiel von Score, Visuellem und der Gefühlslage der Figuren versteht sich dieser Film sehr gut darin den Zuschauer durchgehend unwohl fühlen zu lassen. Dazu kommt das dieser "Speak No Evil" auch verdammt schön gefilmt ist, mit tollen Landschaftsaufnahmen von den Ländlichen Gegenden in den Niederlanden, was dem Film so eine bitter-süße Note verleiht.
Die Charaktere waren für mich eigentlich auch rundum gut geschrieben mir hat vor allem Fedja van Huêt´s Darstellung von Patrick gefallen, der Mann hat Schauspielerisch richtig was auf dem Kasten, aber was das writing insgesamt angeht hat "Speak No Evil" so besonders der Film auch sein mag, die für Horror-Filme typischen schwächen. So handeln die Figuren hier teilweise fern von jeder Logik ohne ein Funken Überlebensinstinkt und geben sich fast schon den Geschehnissen hin. Das hat mich teils wirklich genervt, man hätte das durchaus besser lösen können.

Insgesamt ist das hier aber ein unglaublich Spannender, Nervenaufreibender und Schockierender Streifen, der nicht zuletzt mit seinem krassen Ende ordentlich Eindruck bei mir hinterlassen hat.

I almost made the mistake again and watched the American remake before the original, as I did with “The Guilty”. Fortunately, this time I did it the other way around (but I haven't seen the remake yet). Again, it's a Danish film and I think I've emphasized often enough how much I adore Danish films and filmmakers. So I had high expectations of “Speak No Evil”.

What strikes you from the very first second is the insanely cool and oppressive atmosphere, because even at the beginning you notice very subtly but clearly that something is wrong here. Combined with the great interplay of score, visuals and the emotional state of the characters, this movie knows very well how to make the viewer feel uncomfortable throughout. What's more, this "Speak No Evil" is also damn beautifully filmed, with great landscape shots of the rural areas in the Netherlands, which gives the movie a bitter-sweet note.

For me, the characters were actually well written all round, I particularly liked Fedja van Huêt's portrayal of Patrick, the man really has what it takes as an actor, but as far as the writing as a whole is concerned, "Speak No Evil", as special as the movie may be, has the typical weaknesses of horror films. For example, the characters here sometimes act far from any logic without a shred of survival instinct and almost surrender to the events. This really annoyed me at times and could have been handled better.

All in all, however, this is an incredibly exciting, nerve-wracking and shocking movie, which left quite an impression on me, not least because of its brutal ending.

The start of the cult horror series about the plans of death, which has given so many people a lot of new fears. For me, "Final Destination" is an absolutely nostalgic movie that impressed me very early on and was also one of the first horror movies I dared to watch as a 12 or 13 year old. To this day, the movie still convinces with its 90s charm and great practical effects and has aged especially well compared to later parts.

I'm one with the Force, and the Force is with me.

Von vielen habe ich schon gehört dass, "Rouge One" ihr lieblings Star Wars Film sei und ich kann diese Meinung wirklich gut nachvollziehen.
Es wurde viel versucht mit dem Franchise und dabei wurden so essentielle Dinge der Star Wars Filme einfach nicht beachtet. "Rouge One " verkörpert diese Essenz, das was Star Wars so besonders macht ziemlich gut. Es wird aber auch viel anders gemacht, generell wird eine deutlich düstere, nachdenklichere und auch erwachsenere Richtung eingeschlagen. Mir persönlich haben vor allem die Visuellen Veränderungen gefallen. "Rouge One" ist auf jeden Fall der Visuell schönste Star Wars Film, seien es die wunderschöne von der Zeit gezeichneten Tempel Landschaften auf Jedha, oder das Wobani System welches von Kosmischen Nebel umgeben ist dieser Film schafft es immer wieder Visuell zu beeindrucken.

In ein Paar Kritiken habe ich gelesen das manche das writing beziehungsweise die Dialoge und Charaktere nicht so gut fanden. Ich kann das jedenfalls nicht nachvollziehen ich liebe die ganze Crew, jeder ist einzigartig und sympathisch, wo für mich vor allem Chirrut (Donnie Yen), K2 (Alan Tudyk) oder auch Andor (Diego Luna) heraus stechen. Auch das kleine Familiendrama rund um Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) und Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen) hat mir persönlich wirklich gut gefallen und hat sich ziemlich organisch in die Handlung eingegliedert.

Festhalten kann man das "Rouge One" das Rad nicht neu erfunden hat, aber trotzdem nicht nur eine wirklich tolle Ergänzung in der Star Wars Chronologie ist, sondern auch einer der besten Filme des Franchise.

I have heard from many people that “Rouge One” is their favorite Star Wars movie and I can really understand this opinion.
A lot has been attempted with the franchise and yet so many essential things about the Star Wars films have simply been ignored. “Rouge One” embodies this essence of what makes Star Wars so special quite well. But it also does a lot differently, generally taking a much darker, more thoughtful and more adult direction. Personally, I particularly liked the visual changes. “Rouge One” is definitely the most visually beautiful Star Wars movie, be it the beautiful time-worn temple landscapes on Jedha, or the Wobani system which is surrounded by cosmic fog, this movie always manages to impress visually.

In some reviews I read that some people didn't like the writing or the dialog and characters. I can't understand why, I love the whole crew, everyone is unique and likeable, with Chirrut (Donnie Yen), K2 (Alan Tudyk) and Andor (Diego Luna) standing out for me. I also really liked the little family drama surrounding Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen) and it was integrated into the plot quite organically.

It can be said that “Rouge One” hasn't reinvented the wheel, but is still not only a really great addition to the Star Wars chronology, but also one of the best entries in this franchise.

"Maxxxine" ist jetzt also der letzte Teil der von Ti West kreierten Trilogie rund um Pearl und Maxine. Hier möchte Maxine aus der Porno Branche ausbrechen und eine Karriere in Hollywood beginnen. Dort findet dann auch der Rest der Handlung statt.

Der Vibe den LA so ausstrahlt wird hier wirklich gut eingefangen und geschickt visuell inszeniert. Vor allem die Night Shoots haben mir sehr gut gefallen, durch das tolle Zusammenspiel von Schatten und Farben.
Eine weitere Stärke des Films wäre da die Liebe zum Detail. Um ein Paar Beispiele zu nennen: Es geht in einer Szene um Hollywood Stars, welche ihren Durchbruch mit einem Horrorfilm hatten und Kevin Bacon spielt mit, der mit "Friday The 13th" bekannt wurde. Dann der Fakt das ein Augenmerk auf Theda Barbara gelenkt wird, welche ziemlich viele Parallelen zu der Figur Maxine und Pearl aufweist oder etwas Plakativer das Maxines Hände versehentlich mit Kunstblut beschmiert werden in Anlehnung an "X". An dieser Fülle an Details lässt sich aber auch schon eine schwäche des Films erkennen. Ich hatte immer so das Gefühl das Ti West etwas zu Ambitioniert an dieses Projekt herangetreten ist. Man hat hier jede Möglichkeit eine Interessante Story zu erzählen und es werden auch viele Story Stränge aufgegriffen. Was jedoch am ende dann dabei heraus kommt ist irgendwie etwas underwhelming und hat mich ehrlich gesagt nicht so sehr interessiert.
Ich hatte trotzdem sehr viel spaß mit diesem Film. Mia Goth ist wie immer super gut und legt wieder eine tolle Performance hin. Auch profitiert "Maxxxine" durch seine over the top Attitüde wie auch schon "Pearl" was mir wieder sehr gut gefallen hat. "Maxxxine" ist also keinesfalls ein schlechter Film.

Als Fazit zur Trilogie halte ich aber Fest das ich die Filme alle im Zusammenspiel wirklich gut finde und "Pearl" für mich als Alleinstehendes Meisterwerk heraus sticht. "X" und "Maxxxine" funktionieren teilweise für mich nicht so gut, obwohl ich denke das ich nach einem reawatch mit dem Vorwissen der anderen Teile "X" deutlich besser finden könnte.

The vibe that LA radiates is captured really well here and skillfully staged visually. I particularly liked the night shots, thanks to the great interplay of shadows and colors.
Another strength of the movie is the attention to detail. To name a couple of examples: One scene is about Hollywood stars who had their breakthrough with a horror movie and Kevin Bacon is in it, who became famous with “Friday The 13th”. Then there's the fact that attention is drawn to Theda Barbara, who has quite a few parallels to the character Maxine and Pearl, or more strikingly, Maxine's hands are accidentally smeared with fake blood in reference to “X”. But this abundance of details also reveals one of the movie's weaknesses. I always had the feeling that Ti West approached this project a little too ambitiously. There is every opportunity to tell an interesting story here and many storylines are taken up. But what comes out in the end is somehow a bit underwhelming and to be honest I wasn't that interested.
I still had a lot of fun with this movie. Mia Goth is super good as always and gives another great performance. Maxxxine“ also benefits from its over-the-top attitude, just like ”Pearl", which I really liked again. So “Maxxxine” is by no means a bad movie.

As a conclusion to the trilogy, however, I think the films all work really well together and “Pearl” stands out for me as a stand-alone masterpiece. “X” and ‘Maxxxine’ don't work so well for me in parts, although I think that after a rewatch with prior knowledge of the other parts I might find “X” much better.

Chicago ist der gleiche scheiß wie Mississippi nur mit Hochhän statt Plantagen.

Auf dem Papier hört sich "Sinners" wirklich komplett wild an. Ein Black-History-drama-Musical-Vampir-Slasher, aber was dabei als Film heraus gekommen ist, war wirklich beeindruckend.

Als ich den Trailer vor etwas längerer Zeit schon gesehen habe, war ich ehrlich gesagt nicht so optimistisch. Für mich sah das damals noch nie Chat so überzeugend aus. Als ich dann aber im Kino saß, hat mich dann diese oben schon angesprochene Vielschichtigkeit des Films wirklich überrascht. "Sinners" startet auf einer etwas ernsteren Note und beleuchtet die schlimmen Verhältnisse in Hinsicht auf das Rassistische Amerika in dem Afro-Amerikaner immernoch unterdrückt werden. Dort werden dann auch die Zwillinge Smoke und Stack vorgestellt, beide gespielt von Michael B. Jordan, die mir wirklich sehr gut gefallen haben.
Dann wird ab der Hälfte des Films der Spaßfaktor komplett aufgedreht und dieser Film mutiert zu einem absoluten Fest aus One-Linern, spaßigen action Szenen und ganz viel Blut. "Sinners" nimmt sich dabei bewusst nie so richtig ernst, so werden alle Vampir Klischees zum Teil auch sehr Plakativ bedient und die Vampire sind auch eher Komödiantisch als bedrohlich.

Kommen wir aber zu der für mich größten Stärke beziehungsweise, zum größten Alleinstellungsmerkmal des Films, nämlich die Musik, welche hier ein wirklich zentraler Bestandteil ist, zum einen Mythologisch und zum anderen Handwerklich. Das wurde hier unglaublich gut eingebaut, so bekommen wir hier meine bisherige Lieblingsszene des Kinojahres 2025, nämlich den Irischen Tanz der Vampire mit eine Choreo die mir wirklich sehr gut gefallen hat. Generell sind alle Szenen mit Live Musik in dem Klub wirklich gut gemacht und bieten einige Überraschungen.

Egal wie gut mir "Sinners" letztendlich gefallen hat muß ich aber ein paar Dinge kritisieren. Zum einen wäre da das sich hier wirklich nicht nur einmal bei dem Klassiker "From Dusk Till Dawn" bedient wurde. Es ist nicht übermäßig, aber es ist mir schon sehr aufgefallen. Was ich auch bemängeln muss sind die Charaktere die mir teilweise zu eindimensional geschrieben wurden und ich dadurch nicht wirklich eine Bindung zu ihnen hatte, insbesondere zu Sammie.
Letztendlich war das alles nicht so dramatisch und ich liebe auch viele der Tarantino artigen Elemente.
All in all ein Fantastischer Film der mich wirklich überrascht hat.

On paper, “Sinners” sounds completely wild. A black-history-drama-musical-vampire-slasher, but what came out of it as a movie was really impressive.

When I saw the trailer a little while ago, I honestly wasn't that optimistic. It never looked so convincing to me back then. But when I sat in the cinema, I was really surprised by the complexity of the film that I mentioned above. “Sinners” starts on a somewhat more serious note and sheds light on the dire circumstances of racist America in which African-Americans are still oppressed. It also introduces the twins Smoke and Stack, both played by Michael B. Jordan, who I really liked.

Then, halfway through the movie, the fun factor is turned up completely and this movie mutates into an absolute feast of one-liners, fun action scenes and lots of blood. “Sinners” deliberately never takes itself too seriously, so all the vampire clichés are sometimes used very boldly and the vampires are more comedic than threatening.

But let's move on to what for me is the film's greatest strength, or rather its greatest unique selling point, namely the music, which is a really central component here, both mythologically and in of craftsmanship. This was incorporated incredibly well here, so we get my favorite scene of the cinema year 2025 so far, namely the Irish dance of the vampires with a choreo that I really liked very much. In general, all the scenes with live music in the club are really well done and offer a few surprises.

No matter how much I liked “Sinners” in the end, I have to criticize a few things. Firstly, there is the fact that the classic “From Dusk Till Dawn” was used more than once. It's not excessive, but I did notice it a lot. What I also have to criticize are the characters, some of which were written too one-dimensionally for me and I didn't really connect with them, especially Sammie.

In the end it wasn't all that dramatic and I also love a lot of the Tarantino-esque elements. All in all a fantastic movie that really surprised me.

Junge hat mich "Final Destination Bloodlines" überrascht! Ich bin gerade aus dem Kino raus und bin immernoch begeistert. Zach Lipovsky und Adam Stein ist hier gelungen das Konzept von der Reihe zu vereinen mit einer wirklich gut geschriebenen Story und tollen Charakteren, hier wurde also alles was ich immer an den anderen Teilen bemängelt habe richtig gemacht. Dadurch ist der Film zwar etwas länger, aber das merkt man hier eigentlich gar nicht.
Auch handwerklich hat sich verdammt viel getan, was natürlich auch an den großen Zeitabstand zum Vorgänger liegt was die Special effects angeht, aber auch der ganze look und die Cinaematographie ist deutlich cleaner und schön anzusehen.
Wie schon erwähnt ist die Story und die Charaktere eine Stärke des Films (hätte auch nicht gedacht das ich das mal über einen Final Destination Film sage). Gefühlt zum ersten Mal hab ich wirklich mit den Figuren mit gefühlt, die alle einzigartig und auf ihre Art sympathisch sind. Da wäre zum Beispiel der Videospielende Pearcer Erick, welcher mir mit seiner Lustigen lockeren Art gefallen hat oder ein Bobby der sich Sorgen darum macht was mit seiner Schildkröte iert wenn er stirbt.
Zu der Story will ich nicht so viel sagen damit ich nichts vorweg nehme, was ich aber sagen kann ist das sie durchweg interessant und spannend erzählt ist und das ist mal wirklich erfrischend für dieser Reihe.

So jetzt aber das wichtigste und das wofür man sich diese Filme anschaut. Natürlich die Todeszenen und der damit verbundene Gore. Und ich kann euch eins versprechen ihr werdet auf gar keinen Fall enttäuscht. "Final Destination Bloodlines" hat nämlich mit die besten und ekelhaftesten Tode der Reihe (eine Szene die mit einen Finger zu tun hatte hat mich dann auch kalt erwischt). Dabei wird es hier gewohnt überzogen und hat dadurch auch so eine komödiantische Note, ist dabei aber nie zu drüber oder abstrus. Auch die splatter Effekte sind hier in Point. Es sieht hier einfach alles viel realer und besser aus als noch in den Vorgängern in denne die Special effects teilweise wirklich schlecht gealtert sind. Also macht euch gefasst auf Momente die euch vielleicht auflachen-oder euch die Hände vor das Gesicht halten lassen.

Mir hat dieser Film unglaublich gut gefallen und ich kann nur empfehlen das man der Reihe noch einmal eine Chance gibt, vor allem wenn man von den letzten beiden Teilen enttäuscht wurde.

Boy did “Final Destination Bloodlines” surprise me! I just got out of the movie theater and I'm still excited. Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein have managed to combine the concept of the series with a really well-written story and great characters, so everything I've always criticized about the other parts has been done right. As a result, the movie is a bit longer, but you don't really notice that here.
A hell of a lot has also been done in of craftsmanship, which is of course also due to the big time gap to the predecessor as far as the special effects are concerned, but the whole look and the cinematography is also much cleaner and nice to look at.
As already mentioned, the story and the characters are one of the movie's strengths (I didn't think I'd ever say that about a Final Destination movie). For what feels like the first time, I really empathized with the characters, who are all unique and likeable in their own way. For example, there's the video game playing Pearcer Erick, who I liked with his funny, easy-going manner, or Bobby, who worries about what will happen to his turtle when he dies.
I don't want to say too much about the story so that I don't give anything away, but what I can say is that it is told in an interesting and exciting way throughout and that is really refreshing for this series.

But now the most important thing and what you watch these movies for. The death scenes and the associated gore, of course. And I can promise you one thing: you won't be disappointed. “Final Destination Bloodlines” has some of the best and most disgusting deaths in the series (one scene involving a finger gave me the chills). It is exaggerated as usual and therefore has a comedic touch, but is never too over the top or abstruse. The splatter effects are also on point here. Everything simply looks much more real and better here than in the predecessors, where the special effects have aged really badly in places. So be prepared for moments that might make you laugh - or hold your hands in front of your face.

I really enjoyed this movie and I can only recommend that you give the series another chance, especially if you were disappointed by the last two parts.

Ja Man! Genau das erwarte ich von einem Final Destination Film.
Der fünfte Vertreter der Reihe trägt dann auch wieder die Zahl im Namen und setzt sich qualitativ zum Glück deutlich von seinem Vorgänger ab. Hier hatt ich echt wieder das Gefühl der ersten drei Teile die mit so einem echt interessanten ganz eigenen Vibe und Charme daher kamen. "Final Destination 5" macht sogar teilweise auch manches besser. Ich fand zum Beispiel die einzelnen Charaktere diesmal überraschend interessant und sie gingen mir nicht so komplett am Arsch vorbei. "Final Destination 5" schafft es dazu auch noch dieses einfache und etwas abgenutzte Konzept der Reihe aufzufrischen mit diesem neuen Mysterium des Gerichtsmediziners und neuen Regeln wie man den Tod umgehen kann, welche den Film deutlich spannender machen und ihn aus der Reihe heraus stechen lassen.
Natürlich sind die bekannten Schwächen der Reihe auch in diesem Film präsent damit meine ich vor allem den Dialog, aber Come on das holt der Film mit seinem unglaublichen Spaßfaktor mit noch krasseren und übertriebenen Später Effekten und mit einer Menge kreativer Todesszenarien wieder wett. Auch gefallen hat mir das Ende was noch einmal ein netter wink an den ersten Teil der Reihe ist.

Overall ist "Final Destination 5" natürlich kein Meisterwerk was dieser Film natürlich auch nicht sein möchte. Die schwächen des Skripts und die Abstrusität ist immer noch gegeben, aber dieser Film ist unglaublich unterhaltend und versteht sich darin den Spirit der Reihe weiter zu tragen.

"Final Destination 5" also manages to freshen up this simple and somewhat worn-out concept of the series with this new mystery of the coroner and new rules on how to avoid death, which make the movie much more exciting and make it stand out from the series.
Of course, the well-known weaknesses of the series are also present in this movie, especially the dialog, but come on, the movie makes up for it with its incredible fun factor with even more blatant and exaggerated later effects and a lot of creative death scenarios. I also liked the ending which is a nice nod to the first part of the series.

Overall, "Final Destination 5" is of course not a masterpiece, which this movie doesn't want to be. The weaknesses of the script and the abstruseness are still there, but this movie is incredibly entertaining and knows how to carry on the spirit of the series.

Also ich bin ja sonst schon Fan dieser Reihe, aber "The Final Destination" ist leider kompletter Bullshit. Das schlimmste ist eigentlich das noch nicht einmal die Tode wirklich interessant oder irgendwie gut und realistisch Inszeniert sind, was selbst bei dem teils schwachen zweiten Teil der Fall war. Alles ist hier einfach nur so abstrus und so blöd selbst für Final Destination Verhältnisse. Dazu kommen die unausstehlichen Charaktere, welche hier so unglaublich scheiße geschrieben sind und die Dialoge so bodenlos waren das ich mich sehr mit dem Tod in diesem Teil verbunden gefühlt habe.
Der schlimmste war aber dieser Hunt der hier so überspitzt als arschloch inszeniert wurde mit Dialogen die von einem 13 Jährigen hätten stammen können. "If I'm dying im trying" bro shut the fuck up already.
Naja der Film war zwar ziemlich schlecht ich muss aber sagen das es dann teils so drüber war das ich mich doch ein bisschen beim Spaß haben erwischt habe. Einen halben Stern gibt es auch noch für den Typen der durch den Zaun gequetscht wurde das war schon verdammt cool.

The worst thing is that not even the deaths are really interesting or somehow well and realistically staged, which was even the case with the second part, which was weak in parts. Well, the movie was pretty bad but I have to say that it was sometimes so over the top that I caught myself having a bit of fun. Half a star for the guy who was squeezed through the fence, that was pretty damn cool.

Was soll ich sagen? Legendär, Revolutionär und absolut Kultig. All das ist Star Wars aus der Feder von George Lucas. Dieser Film ist voll mit Momenten die Filmgeschichte geschrieben haben und dass völlig zurecht. Bis heute begleiten Millionen Menschen Luke bei seiner Heldenreise, welche hier ihren Anfang findet. Dieser Film beziehungsweise die ganze Trilogie hat sich unsterblich in die Popkultur verankert und ist der Grundstein für ein Franchise was uns bis heute, manchmal positiv und manchmal negativ begleitet. Mehr möchte ich heute auch nicht zu diesem Film sagen. Vielen Dank George Lucas:)

Ich hab es mir natürlich auch nicht nehmen lassen "Star Wars: Revenge of The Sith" zum 20 Jährigen Jubiläum noch einmal im Kino anzuschauen. Ich bin jemand der mit den Prequels aufgewachsen ist, weshalb ich etwas von Nostalgie und Erinnerungen geblendet bin. Als kleiner Junge war es mir eben egal wie scheiße Corny die Dialoge zwischen Pe und Anakin sind. Mir war die Politische Note egal. Es ging damals noch um den Spaß, um das mit fiebern und um das trauern um die Figur mit der man sich seit "The Phantom Menace" identifiziert hat und um den Wunsch und das Verlangen zurück zu dem Zeitpunkt zu gehen an dem noch alles gut war, was einen dann zu den beiden Vorgängern zurück kehren lässt.
All diese Gefühle verbinden mich mit diesem Film was es mir schwer macht das hier vernünftig zu bewerten und um ehrlich zu sein möchte ich das auch gar nicht. Genauso wenig wie bei den beiden Vorgängern. Eben wegen genau dieser Verbundenheit genieße ich diese Filme auch heute noch. Ich finde auch immer noch neue Aspekte die mir gefallen, welche ich vorher noch nicht erkennen konnte. Wie zum Beispiel hier den angesprochenen Politischen Part und die offensichtlichen Parallelen zum Nationalsozialismus und zu der Weimarer Republik. Auch die Kritik am Glauben, Heroismus und dem prophetischen Messias, welche immer mitschwingt.
Was ich auch heute viel mehr wertschätze, sind die grandiosen Lichtschwert Kämpfe bei denen ja in der Produktion viel Arbeit in Choreographien gesteckt wurde, was sich hier sehr auszahlt. Star Wars Episode III enthält nämlich die zwei qualitativ besten Kampfszenen von allen Star Wars Filmen, nämlich Yoda vs Palpatine und Obi-Wan vs Anakan.

Auch heute noch erwische ich mich dabei genauso von dem Film gepackt zu werden wie früher und immer und immer wieder mit zu fiebern, das am Ende dann doch noch irgendwie alles gut wird, nur um dann am Ende wieder niedergeschlagen da zu sitzen. Dieser Film ist und bleibt ein sehr wichtiger Film für mich.

Of course, I didn't miss the chance to watch “Star Wars: Revenge of The Sith” again in the movie theater for the 20th anniversary. I'm someone who grew up with the prequels, so I'm a bit blinded by nostalgia and memories. As a young boy, I didn't care how corny the dialog between Pe and Anakin was. I didn't care about the political overtones. Back then it was all about the fun, the excitement and the mourning for the character you've identified with since “The Phantom Menace” and the desire and longing to go back to the time when everything was still good, which makes you want to return to the two predecessors.

All of these feelings connect me to this movie which makes it difficult for me to evaluate it properly and to be honest I don't want to. Just as little as with the two predecessors. It's precisely because of this connection that I still enjoy these films today. I still find new aspects that I like, which I couldn't recognize before. For example, the political part mentioned here and the obvious parallels to National Socialism and the Weimar Republic. Also the criticism of faith, heroism and the prophetic Messiah, which always resonates. What I appreciate much more today are the grandiose lightsaber fights, where a lot of work was put into the choreography during production, which really pays off here. Star Wars Episode III contains the two best quality fight scenes of all the Star Wars films, namely Yoda vs Palpatine and Obi-Wan vs Anikan.

Even today, I still find myself just as gripped by the movie as I used to be, and I'm always excited that everything will somehow work out in the end, only to sit there dejected again at the end. This movie is and remains a very important movie for me.

Where is she? In the hallway...and in the kitchen. In the hallway and the kitchen?

Wow really wow. I've rarely seen dialog at this level. “In China They Eat Dogs” is almost at Tarantino level as far as this is concerned. This works mainly because of the incredibly well-written characters: the two somewhat awkward but likeable chefs, the hard-boiled Harald or the somewhat insecure Arvid. All of this wrapped up in an extremely dark and obscure comedy that s the list of masterpieces of Danish cinema.

Einfach nur Klasse! Der Qualitätssprung zu "X" ist hier wirklich enorm, denn Pearl ist einfach nur fantastisch. Das hier ist das Prequel zu "X" in der wir die Junge Pearl und ihr Leben auf dem Hof mit ihren Eltern zu sehen bekommen.
Was direkt auffällt ist die ganze Aufmachung und Ästhetik des Films, welche an alte Klassiker vor allem aus Deutschland oder Österreich erinnert, was auch t dar es sich bei Pearls Mutter um eine Deutsche Einwanderin handelt. Dazu gibt es natürlich auch die ende Musik. Das alles wirkt dann mit der Kanalligen und bunten Farbpalette auf eine sehr gute Art überspitzt, was einfach perfekt zu der Rolle der Pearl t, welche von der überragenden Mia Goth in einer exzentrischen und schrillen Performance verkörpert wird. Generell ist Mia Goth der größte Faktor und die Größte Stärke dieses Films. Man merkt mit was für einer ion sie hier dabei ist und wie sie alles für diese Rolle gibt, was wahrscheinlich auch nicht zuletzt daran liegt das sie diesen Film mitgeschrieben hat und so auch schon eine große Identifikation mit dem Projekt vorlag.

Ich war ja bei "X" sehr kritisch und das bin ich auch immernoch, aber auch "X" wird ungemein durch "Pearl" aufgewertet, was natürlich nichts daran ändert das mir trotzdem dieses Alleinstellungsmerkmal fehlt, welches Pearl eben dann umso mehr hat. Vieles wird aber nachvollziehbarer was ich vorher auch kritisiert habe. Insgesamt macht aber "Pearl" dann aber alles bei weitem besser.

Szenen wie die Tanzszene mit der Vogelscheuche, alle szenne mit ihrer Mutter oder die wahnsinnig guten letzten 10 minuten des Films oder das Geschickte Spiel mit Genres machen "Pearl" zu einem ganz besonderen Film der mir wirklich unglaublich viel Spaß gemacht hat. Ich denke es ist nicht zu viel gesagt wenn ich sage das Ti West hier ein Meisterwerk der ganz besonderen Art erschaffen hat.

Simply great! The leap in quality from “X” is really enormous here, because Pearl is just fantastic. This is the prequel to “X” in which we get to see the young Pearl and her life on the farm with her parents.

What is immediately noticeable is the whole look and aesthetic of the movie, which is reminiscent of old classics, especially from or Austria, which is fitting as Pearl's mother is a German immigrant. Of course, there is also the appropriate music. All of this is exaggerated in a very good way with the bright and colorful palette, which fits perfectly with the role of Pearl, who is embodied by the outstanding Mia Goth in an eccentric and shrill performance. In general, Mia Goth is the biggest factor and the greatest strength of this movie. You can tell how ionate she is and how she gives everything for this role, which is probably not least due to the fact that she co-wrote this film and therefore already identified strongly with the project.

I was very critical of “X” and I still am, but ‘X’ is also greatly enhanced by “Pearl”, which of course doesn't change the fact that I still miss this unique selling point, which Pearl then has all the more. But much of what I criticized before becomes more comprehensible. Overall, however, “Pearl” does everything far better.

Scenes like the dance scene with the scarecrow, all the scenes with her mother or the insanely good last 10 minutes of the movie or the skillful play with genres make “Pearl” a very special movie that I really enjoyed a lot. I don't think it's too much to say that Ti West has created a very special kind of masterpiece here.

"X" ist einer der großen Horror Hits aus dem Hause A24. Jetzt habe ich ihn auch gesehen und muss zugeben daß ich wirklich enttäuscht wurde. Ich weiß nicht vielleicht lag es an den hohen Erwartungen die ich an den Film hatte, aber wirklich was neues macht "X" hier nicht.
Es ist die immer gleiche story der Horrorfilme der 1980er Jahre, die hier noch einmal erzählt wird. Eine Gruppe von Horny Jungen Leuten die zu einem abgelegenen Ort fahren und sich schon früh andeutet das hier was nicht stimmt. Das hat man doch schon tausend mal gesehen. Was natürlich hier anders ist als bei den üblichen Genrevertretern, ist die tolle Cinaematographie dieser Film sieht einfach verdammt gut aus, was auch dem Wunderschönen Setting zuzuschreiben ist, diese weiten der ländlichen Gegenden in den Südstaaten der USA haben es mir vom Vibe und vom Visuellen einfach angetan. Abgesehen davon wirkt dieser Film wirklich nicht sehr innovativ und teils auch einfach unorginell. Da hilft meiner Meinung nach auch nicht das unfassbar dumme Motiv der Killer (wenn man die Fortsetzung nicht gesehen hat ein Film muss auch alleine Funktionieren).
Auch der ganze Plot beziehungsweise der Plot Twist ist unglaublich predictable ich konnte mir nach ungelogenen 20 Minuten den Hauptteil der Handlung erschließen und dann wird dir das Foreshadowing so hart Plakativ in die Fresse gedrückt das der letzte es irgendwie dann auch checken muss.
Ehrlich gesagt kann ich mir auch nicht so richtig erklären warum viele diesen Film für so unglaublich gut halten. Ich meine man hat das wie gesagt alles schon gesehen. Ich kann mir das nur so erklären das wirklich viele weil da halt A24 draufsteht erstmals einen Film dieser Art gesehen haben, was natürlich nichts verwerfliches ist.

Naja wie man merkt war ich ziemlich enttäuscht, hatte aber trotzdem auch meinen Spaß mit diesem Film, nicht nur aufgrund seines Looks, sondern weil ich auch diese Art von Film wirklich enjoyen kann. Mir fehlt hier nur das Alleinstellungsmerkmal was diesen Film irgendwie von anderen abheben würde. Ich weiß das die Fortsetzung diesen Film besser erklärt und auch besser macht, weil ich Pearl zum Zeitpunkt zu dem ich diese Review schreibe schon gesehen habe, aber auch davon unabhängig wollte dieser Film hier besser Funktionieren um eine höhere Wertung rechtfertigen zu können.

“X” is one of the big horror hits from A24. Now I've seen it too and I have to it that I was really disappointed. I don't know maybe it was because of the high expectations I had for the movie, but “X” doesn't really do anything new here.
It's the same old story of the horror movies of the 1980s, which is told here once again. A group of horny young people who travel to a remote location and it becomes apparent early on that something is wrong here. We've seen this a thousand times before. Of course, what's different here from the usual genre representatives is the great cinematography, this movie just looks damn good, which is also due to the beautiful setting, these vast rural areas in the southern states of the USA have simply done it to me in of vibe and visuals. Apart from that, this movie really doesn't seem very innovative and sometimes simply unoriginal. In my opinion, the incredibly stupid motif of the killers doesn't help either (if you haven't seen the sequel, a movie has to work on its own).
The whole plot or rather the plot twist is incredibly predictable, I was able to figure out the main part of the plot after 20 minutes and then the foreshadowing is shoved so hard in your face that the last person has to somehow figure it out.
To be honest, I can't really explain why so many people think this movie is so incredibly good. I mean, as I said, you've seen it all before. The only way I can explain it is that a lot of people have seen a movie like this for the first time because it says A24 on it, which of course is nothing reprehensible.

Well, as you can see, I was pretty disappointed, but I still had fun with this movie, not only because of its look, but also because I can really enjoy this kind of movie. I just miss the unique selling point that would somehow set this movie apart from others. I know that the sequel explains this movie better and also makes it better because I have already seen Pearl at the time of writing this review, but regardless of that, this movie wanted to work better here to justify a higher rating.

Wie auch im ein Jahr später erschienen "Foxy Brown" sehen wir in dem Blaxploitation Klassiker "Coffy" wieder eine fabelhafte Pam Grier in einer starken Rolle.
Getrieben von Rache an denen welche ihre Schwester in die Welt der Drogen verführt, und ihr Leben zerstört haben, kämpft sich Coffy durch das von Gewalt, Drogen und Korrupten Cops beherrschte LA.
Wie in den meisten Blaxploitation Filmen geht "Coffy" hier einen schmalen Grat zwischen erotisierter Weiblichkeit und klarer politischer und Gesellschaftlicher Kante bei Themen wie Toxischer Männlichkeit, Emanzipation der Frau und Afro-Amerikaner*innen, Polizei oder Sozialer Ungerechtigkeit. Eben weil die Politik dieser Filme aber so klar ist, sind sie durchaus noch aktuell.
Was anderes was ich total an diesen Filmen feier, ist die Musik. Hier in "Coffy" ist es mir dann teilweise doch schon etwas drüber mit den wirklich Plakativen und teils albernen Texten, aber der Charme dieser Musikeinlagen übertrifft das dann doch sehr hoch, wobei ich hier kurz einen Vergleich zu "Foxy Brown" ziehen möchte, dar dieser Soundtrack tatsächlich zu einen meiner Favoriten gehört.

Abschließend kann ich nur jedem empfehlen sich mal ein Paar der Blaxploitation Filme der 1970er Jahre anzusehen. Die Filme sind teils wirklich etwas Trashy, besitzen aber einen einzigartigen Charme und behandeln meist wirklich gute und wichtige Themen.

Here in “Coffy” it's a bit over the top for me with the really bold and sometimes silly lyrics, but the charm of these musical interludes sures that very highly, whereby I would like to make a brief comparison with “Foxy Brown” here, as this soundtrack is actually one of my favorites.

In conclusion, I can only recommend everyone to watch a couple of the blaxploitation films of the 1970s. Some of the films are really a bit trashy, but they have a unique charm and usually deal with really good and important themes.

Sich im Spiegel betrachten, ist wie sich beim denken zuzusehen.

Wim Wnders ist einfach einer der besten! Letztes Jahr hab ich ihn erst für mich entdeckt und Wim Wenders wurde schnell einer der wichtigsten und besten Regisseure für mich. Kein anderer zieht mich so in seine Welten und Geschichten wie er. Vor allem "Der Himmel über Berlin" hat es mir da sehr angetan. Der Film wirkt einfach so meditativ und kommt so richtig daher, ist inhaltlich aber unglaublich schwer und tief.

Der Zuschauer wird in ein unglaublich schön in Szene gesetztes geteiltes Berlin untermahlt mit einem wunderschönen Score und Cinaematographischer Spitzenleistung hineingesetzt, in dem es von Engeln wie Damiel der hier vom großen Bruno Ganz verkörpert wird nur so wimmelt. Verdammt dazu nur Beobachter zu sein und die Gedanken und Emotionen jedes Menschen in sich tragen zu müssen, aber auch den Menschen zu helfen und nah zu sein, wird der Wunsch nach einem Leben abseits des metaphysischen Daseins immer größer.
"Der Himmel über Berlin" ist ein großer Gedankengang, ein Essay verarbeitet in die Kunst des Films. Dieser Film ist tief Philosophisch und Poetisch getrieben von seiner narrative wirkt das alles sehr organisch. Es geht um Liebe, um die Suche nach etwas echtem, und schöne und optimistische Sichtweisen auf das Leben, aber auch um das immernoch erschütterte, traumatisierte und zerrissene Deutschland der Nachkriegszeit.

Dieser Film ist jetzt schon einer der wichtigsten Filme für mich und besitzt wirklich einen unfassbaren Mehrwert für sein eigenes denken und empfinden. Meiner Meinung nach ist "Der Himmel über Berlin" einer der besten Filme aller Zeiten und verdient es ganz oben bei den großen Filmen unserer Zeit genannt zu werden. Eine ganz große Empfehlung, wie eigentlich jeder Wim Wenders Film.

Wim Wnders is simply one of the best! I only discovered him last year and Wim Wenders quickly became one of the most important and best directors for me. No one else draws me into his worlds and stories like he does. I was particularly taken with “The Sky Over Berlin”. The movie just seems so meditative and comes across so right, but the content is incredibly heavy and deep.

The viewer is transported into an incredibly beautifully staged, divided Berlin, accompanied by a wonderful score and top cinematography, which is teeming with angels like Damiel, played here by the great Bruno Ganz. Condemned to be only an observer and to have to carry the thoughts and emotions of every human being within himself, but also to help and be close to people, the desire for a life away from metaphysical existence becomes ever greater.
“Der Himmel über Berlin” is a great train of thought, an essay processed into the art of film. This movie is deeply philosophical and poetic, driven by its narrative, it all seems very organic. It is about love, the search for something real, and beautiful and optimistic views on life, but also about the still shaken, traumatized and torn of the post-war period.

This movie is already one of the most important films for me and really has an incredible added value for my own thoughts and feelings. In my opinion, “Der Himmel über Berlin” is one of the best films of all time and deserves to be mentioned at the very top of the great films of our time. A great recommendation, like every Wim Wenders movie.

Identität, Armut, Depression eine in sich zerrüttete Familie. Mitten drin die Junge "Lady Bird". So etwas wie diesen Film bekommt man nicht oft zu sehen, beziehungsweise nicht in dieser Qualität. Die innere zerrissenenheit, die Suche nach Anerkennung, liebe, aber auch Freundschaft, alles was man auch selbst aus seiner Jugend kennt ist hier auf eine unglaublich authentische art dargestellt. Verbunden mit einer Geschichte über Armut und schwierigen Familiären Strukturen ergibt das hier ein wirklich tolles Gesamtwerk. Vor allem in der Beziehung von Lady Bird zu ihrer Mutter hab ich nicht nur einmal mich selbst wieder gesehen, auch wenn sich bei mir diese Schwierigkeiten zum Glück nur auf einen bestimmten Zeitraum meiner Jugend beziehen. So hat sich für mich dann auch nochmal eine persönliche Ebene in diesem Film herausgebildet, was ihn für mich noch besser gemacht hat.

"Lady Bird" hat mich wirklich kalt erwischt ich kann hier nur eine ganz ganz große Empfehlung aussprechen. Dieser Film hat es auf so vielen Ebenen wirklich in sich und lässt einen selbst noch einmal seine Vergangenheit reflektieren.

Identity, poverty, depression and a family in disarray. In the middle of it all is the young “Lady Bird”. You don't often get to see something like this movie, or not in this quality. The inner turmoil, the search for recognition, love, but also friendship, everything you know from your own youth is portrayed here in an incredibly authentic way. Combined with a story about poverty and difficult family structures, this results in a really great overall work. Especially in Lady Bird's relationship with her mother, I saw myself again more than once, even if these difficulties fortunately only relate to a certain period of my youth. So for me, a personal level emerged in this movie, which made it even better for me.

“Lady Bird” really caught me cold and I can only give it a very high recommendation. This movie really packs a punch on so many levels and makes you reflect on your past once again.

Life is so cruel, only a man could be responsible.

Immaculate wirkt erstmal wie ein sehr inspirierter beziehungsweise generischer Film von den es schon Variationen gab. Zu weiten Teilen muss ich dem auch zustimmen ich hatte anfangs etwas Probleme mit den einzelnen Figuren klar zu kommen das ging dann nach den ersten 20 Minuten aber. Was mich dann auch ein bisschen abgelenkt hat war der wunderschöne look des Films, also Cinaematographisch hat "Immaculate" wirklich was drauf. Auch bedingt durch das visuelle, hat der Film eine wirklich tolle Atmosphäre und ich hab gemerkt wie mich dieser Film nach einer Weile dann doch in seinen Bann gezogen hat und ich auch vor allem in den spannenden Momenten gebannt dabei war.
Über die Atmosphäre hinaus hab ich ja schon angemerkt das ich hier ein paar Schwierigkeiten mit den Figuren hatte. Das Drehbuch ist nämlich eher eine Schwäche des Films, so ist das handeln einzelner oft komplett nicht nachvollziehbar oder die Dialoge sind so banal das ich persönlich teilweise schon schmunzeln musste. Ich will hier auch nicht übertreiben es geht immer noch um einzelne stellen, die mich dann aber schon rausgebracht haben.
Aber noch einmal zu dem as ich mochte: Der Genre Twist am zum Ende hin war nämlich wirklich cool und hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Das führt auch dazu das eine Sydney Sweeney hier noch einmal so richtig aufdrehen kann was und nochmal alles aus ihrer Rolle rausholt.
Overall macht dieser Film auf jeden Fall viel Spaß und lohnt sich vor allem für alle die ein Prime Video Abo besitzen.

At first, Immaculate seems like a very inspired or generic movie of which there have already been variations. To a large extent I have to agree with this, I had a bit of trouble getting to grips with the individual characters at first, but that went away after the first 20 minutes. What also distracted me a bit was the beautiful look of the movie, so cinematographically “Immaculate” really has what it takes. Due to the visuals, the movie has a really great atmosphere and I noticed how this movie captivated me after a while and I was spellbound, especially in the exciting moments.
Beyond the atmosphere, I've already mentioned that I had a few difficulties with the characters here. The script is one of the movie's weaknesses, as the actions of individuals are often completely incomprehensible or the dialog is so banal that I personally had to smile at times. I don't want to exaggerate here, it's still about individual ages that got me out.
But back to what I liked: the genre twist at the end was really cool and I really liked it. This also means that Sydney Sweeney can really turn up the heat here and get everything out of her role once again.
Overall, this movie is definitely a lot of fun and is especially worthwhile for anyone with a Prime Video subscription.

“The Game” is one of those movies by David Fincher that I always think will be forgotten. So I've only just seen it. “The Game” is a dark, but also with a surprisingly Humorous touch mystery thriller with an outstanding Michael Douglas in the leading role. The movie knows how to arouse tension and interest in the viewer, but for me the effect diminished in certain parts. Even the actually really good story unfortunately doesn't carry over to the end of the movie, which I wasn't entirely satisfied with. “The Game” convinces again with great camera work and creative ideas (a very good 4th wall break) Overall a very good thriller from the great David Fincher himself.

Ich muss mich erstmal als jemand outen der "The Doors" also die Band wirklich deutlich overrated findet, klar waren sie verdammt gut und ich mag auch vieles was sie rausgebracht haben, aber im Kontrast zu anderen Psychedelic-Rock größen der 1960er und 70er finde ich gibt es deutlich besseres. Sei es Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Can, oder Jefferson Airplane.
So as wollte ich nur zum Anfang loswerden, trotzdem war ich auch schon früh fasziniert von der Person Jim Morrison. Nicht weil er so voll war oder so im Gegenteil er war ein ziemliches Arschloch, aber für mich war er eine der ersten Personen welche außerhalb ihres künstlerischen Schaffens für mich interessant waren. Dazu gehörten natürlich auch Personen wie zum Beispiel Michael Jackson oder Kurt Cobain. Val Kilmer schien es ähnlich zu gehen, denn aus der Doku über ihn lässt sich ziehen das er wirklich hart für diese Rolle gearbeitet hat und sich viel mit der Person Jim Morrison beschäftigt hat. Das merkt man ihm auch an in diesem Film dessen Titel eigentlich auch "Jim Morrison" hätte sein können, was aber auch im Film selbst mehrfach betont wird, The Doors ist Jim Morrison.

Die Gewichtung des Films ist also klar. Es werden relativ schnell die Punkte der Gründung und der Anfänge der Band abgearbeitet, sodass man sich nun vollständig auf die Eskapaden des Jim Morrison konzentrieren kann. Hier bei fällt auf das dann doch mehrere Dinge nicht ganz Realitätsgetreu dargestellt wurden, wie zum Beispiel die Umstände der Verhaftung Jim Morrisons während eines Konzertes. Meines Wissens nach wurden hier ein paar Dinge Durcheinander gebracht. Das fand ich aber nicht weiter schlimm. Was ich wirklich cool fand, war diese Psychodelische Aufbereitung mancher Szenen, vor allem im Kombo mit Live Auftritten und der Musik wird man hier wirklich nahezu beim zuschauen High. Abseits von diesen Stellen werden aber auch schnell ein paar Schwächen klar, wie zum Beispiel das Drehbuch. Manche Dialoge sind hier wirklich so schlecht das es mich schon teilweise echt raus gebracht hat. Trotz alledem muss ich sagen das mich der Film wirklich überzeugt hat. Ich möchte die Wilde Extase, die Ruhigen Momente, die live Auftritte und die Emotionalen und traurigen Momente des Films. Dann spielt hier ein Val Kilmer so unglaublich gut das ich mich wirklich wundert das dieser Film eine seiner wenigen (oder seine einzige) Hauptrolle ist.
Alles in allem kann ich auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung aussprechen, vor allem wegen der tollen Schauspielerischen Einzelleistung von Val Kilmer.

The emphasis of the movie is therefore clear. The founding and early days of the band are dealt with relatively quickly so that we can now concentrate fully on Jim Morrison's escapades. It is noticeable here that several things were not portrayed quite realistically, such as the circumstances of Jim Morrison's arrest during a concert. As far as I know, a few things were mixed up here. But I didn't find that too bad. What I found really cool was this psychedelic treatment of some scenes, especially in combination with live performances and the music, you really almost get high while watching. Apart from these parts, however, a few weaknesses quickly become clear, such as the script. Some of the dialog here is really so bad that it really took me out of it at times. Nevertheless, I have to say that the movie really convinced me. I like the wild ecstasy, the quiet moments, the live performances and the emotional and sad moments of the movie. Then Val Kilmer plays so incredibly well that I'm really surprised that this movie is one of his few (or his only) leading roles.
All in all, I can definitely recommend it, especially because of Val Kilmer's great individual acting performance.

Ich hab mir bei Amazon Prime die Beschreibung zu "Supernova" durchgelesen und dachte das könnte echt ein guter Film werden. Leider wurde nichts daraus, obwohl ich so einen kleinen Soft spot für auch etwas schlechtere science fiction Filme habe. Aber junge Junge, "Supernova" hat meine Toleranz echt auf die Probe gestellt.

Erstmal würde ich direkt am Anfang enttäuscht, weil ACHTUNG SPOILER! die Figur von Robert Foster innerhalb der ersten fünfzehn Minuten getötet wird und ich mich schon so auf ihn in diesem Film gefreut habe. SPOILER ENDE.
Generell sind auch vor allem die Figuren eine große Schwäche des Films. Es ist der Klassiker das man wirklich zu keinem Charakter in irgendeiner Art eine Bindung aufbaut, weil sie einfach so unglaublich schlecht geschrieben sind. Der Inbegriff einer schlecht geschriebenen und gespielten Figur, ist der Antagonist gespielt von Peter Facinelli der euch vielleicht aus Twilight bekannt ist. Er ist hier irgendwie ein Horny Mutant welcher ein Horny Alien-Artefakt auf einem Mond gefunden hat und jetzt horny Dialoge und komische Flirts mit der Crew hat. Ich hab echt selten etwas gesehen was weniger sexy war. Generell geht es hier warum auch immer viel um sex. Man ich will doch einfach nur nen schönes sci Fi horror/drama mehr will ich doch nicht stattdessen schweben die ganze Zeit irgendwelche nackten Crewmitglieder vor einem schlecht geränderten Green Screen rum. Was mich dabei noch mehr ärgert, ist dass das eigentliche Konzept des Artefakts gar nicht mal so schlecht ist und wirklich Potenzial für eine Interessante Story bietet. Nur leider macht dieser Film gar nichts draus. Hier wurde wirklich der schlecht möglichste Weg gefunden diese Story zu erzählen.

I read the description of “Supernova” on Amazon Prime and thought it could be a really good movie. Unfortunately, nothing came of it, although I have a bit of a soft spot for even slightly worse science fiction films. But young boy, “Supernova” really put my tolerance to the test.

First of all, I was disappointed right at the beginning because ATTENTION SPOILER! the character of Robert Foster is killed off within the first fifteen minutes and I was so looking forward to seeing him in this movie. SPOILER END.

In general, the characters are also a major weakness of the movie. It's classic that you really don't bond with any of the characters in any way because they are just so incredibly badly written. The epitome of a poorly written and acted character is the antagonist played by Peter Facinelli, who you may recognize from Twilight. He is somehow a horny mutant who has found a horny alien artifact on a moon and now has horny dialog and weird flirtations with the crew. I've rarely seen anything less sexy. In general, it's a lot about sex for whatever reason. I just want a nice sci fi horror/drama, that's all I want instead of some naked crew floating in front of a badly rendered green screen the whole time. What annoys me even more is that the actual concept of the artifact isn't that bad and really offers potential for an interesting story. Unfortunately, this movie doesn't do anything with it. They really found the worst possible way to tell this story.

"Das Licht" ist wirklich ein ganz schwieriger Fall, was ja im Deutschen Kino vor allem bei solchen Themen nichts neues ist.
Es geht hier also um eine ziemlich disfunktionale Familie, welche eine neue Haushälterin, nämlich eineGgeflüchtete aus Syrien anstellen. So viel erstmal zu den Rahmenbedingungen.
Dieser Film ist einfach gesagt an vielen Stellen wirklich Problematisch und ich versuche mal zu erläutern warum.

Wir haben hier einen Film der sich ganz schön groß auf die kappe schreibt mega "Gesellschaftskritisch" zu sein. Der Zuschauer wird die ganze Zeit halb Ironisch halb plakativ von den Figuren darauf hingewiesen die ihrer Situation bewusst scheinen. Dabei ist dieser Film alles andere als das. "Das Licht" ist ein klassischer Fall von Egoistischer Schadensbegrenzung und pseudo awareness für das was auf der Welt eigentlich abgeht. Dieser Film ist von Menschen gemacht, welche dieses "First world schlechte Gewissen" mit sich rum schleppen und denken das individualisches handeln irgendwas bringen würde, merken in ihrem Reaktionären Kopf nicht das sie eigentlich alles nur für sich und ihr Wohlbefinden machen. Verkörpert ist dieser Gedanke hier von der Syrerin welche hier instrumentalisiert wird bzw. sich selbst Instrumentalisiert um alles in dieser kaputten Familie wieder gut zu machen und sie vereint das ganze schlechte gewissen des weißen Westlichen Menschen. Das ist die Liberalste scheiße die ich seit langem gesehen hab. Du kannst dir nicht so ne Pseudo Kapitalismus-Kritik ins Drehbuch schreiben und dann so einen Kack am Ende im Film als versöhnlichen Aspekt haben.
Der Film sucht immer ganz viele Probleme, muss alles mit rein nehmen "oh gendern muss noch mit rein, mach auch noch was zu Klima rein. Ach ja und noch was zu sucht Problemen und Abtreibung" usw., ihm fehlt es dabei aber dermaßen an Expertise und an Intresse an der berechtigten und vernünftigen Auseinandersetzung, dass sich hier nur verrannt wird in Selbstmitleid, Schuldgefühlen und Scheiß Esoterik ich meine sorry aber was ist das? Wie ist es dazu gekommen das dieser Film die Berlinale eröffnet? Sicherlich werden irgendwelche Sozial-chauvie-Möchtegern-Filmkenner-Bourgeois-snobs diesen Film mega geil finden, aber abgesehen davon wird dieser Film in die ewigen Jagdgründe des Deutschen Films des 21. Jahrhunderts hinab steigen und das völlig zurecht.

So tut mir leid für den rage aber das musste jetzt auch mal sein. Was ich kurz noch positiv erwähnen wollte ist der Rahmen in dem ich diesen Film geguckt habe. Das war nämlich im Delphi Lux und es war sowieso ein schöner/wichtiger Tag für mich und es hat in Berlin den ganzen Tag schon geregnet. Da war der Vibe dieses Films wirklich angenehm muss ich zugeben.
Also anschließend kann ich nur sagen, das ich hier auf gar keinen Fall eine Empfehlung aussprechen würde auch der Länge geschuldet. Oh Mann!

It's about a rather dysfunctional family who hire a new housekeeper, namely a refugee from Syria. So much for the general framework.
To put it simply, this movie is really problematic in many places and I'll try to explain why.

We have a movie here that takes great pains to be mega “socially critical”. The viewer is pointed out all the time, half ironically, half strikingly, by the characters who seem to be aware of their situation. Yet this movie is anything but that. “The Light” is a classic case of egoistic damage limitation and pseudo awareness of what is actually going on in the world. This film is made by people who carry this “first world bad conscience” around with them and think that individual action would bring something, not realizing in their reactionary minds that they are actually doing everything just for themselves and their well-being. This idea is embodied here by the Syrian woman who is being instrumentalized here or who is instrumentalizing herself to make up for everything in this broken family and she unites the whole bad conscience of the white Western man. This is the most liberal shit I've seen in a long time. You can't write some pseudo-criticism of capitalism into the script and then have some shit like that at the end of the movie as a conciliatory aspect.

The movie is always looking for a lot of problems, has to include everything "oh, gender has to be included, add something about the climate. Oh yes, and something about addiction problems and abortion" etc., but it lacks so much expertise and interest in a justified and reasonable debate that it just gets lost in self-pity, feelings of guilt and fucking esotericism, I mean sorry but what is that? How did it come about that this movie opens the Berlinale? Surely some social-chauvie-would-be-film-connoisseur-bourgeois-snob will find this movie mega cool, but apart from that this movie will descend into the eternal hunting grounds of German film of the 21st century and rightly so.

So I'm sorry for the rage, but that should be enough. One positive thing I wanted to mention is the setting in which I watched this movie. It was at the Delphi Lux and it was a nice/important day for me anyway and it had been raining all day in Berlin. I have to it that the vibe of this movie was really pleasant.

So afterwards I can only say that I wouldn't recommend this movie at all, also due to its length. Oh Mann!

Also manchmal kommt man ja mit seinem Netflix Abo in so eine kleine Sinnkrise, aber dann kommt so ein Ding was einen daran erinnert warum man das ganze noch hat. Genau so ein Ding war "Adolescence" glaube ich für viele. Die Miniserie aus Groß Britannien hat ja für ganz schön viel Aufruhr gesorgt.
Ich war anfangs noch skeptisch wurde dann aber sehr gut an die Serie heran geführt. Ich hab einfach am Anfang gedacht das das was alle so krass fanden nämlich das jede Folge ein One Shot ist, das einzige ist was dieser Serie Hype verschafft und mehr nicht dahinter ist, aber ich wurde eindeutig eines besseren belehrt. "Adolescence" ist nämlich ein wirklich unglaublich gutes, tiefgreifendes und emotional mitreißendes Charakter-Drama mit einer toll eingebauten Gesellschaftlichen-und Sozialkritischen Komponente über Misogynie, toxische Männlichkeit und die Gefahren von Sozialen Medien im jungen Alter.

Eine Familie die mit Vertrauen, Zusammenhalt und Verzweiflung ringt, weil der 14 Jährige Jamie Miller des Mordes bezichtigt wird. Das wird von dieser Serie auf einer Art dargestellt und behandelt die ich so noch nie gesehen habe. Jede der vier Folgen zeigt eine andere Situation, eine andere Perspektive der Menschen die mit diesem Fall zu tun haben. Die Zuschauer verfolgen das Geschehen also immer nur aus der Perspektive der Menschen die gerade vor Ort sind, was natürlich dadurch bedingt ist das hier wie bereits gesagt alles in One Shot Folgen gedreht wurde. Dieses Stielmittel ermöglicht einen sich in jede Perspektive rein zu fühlen, weil man eben nur diese beschränkte Sicht auf den Verlauf des Falls hat. Das ist ein so unglaublich geniales Konzept, ich könnte wirklich Luftsprünge machen.
Das ganze wäre natürlich niemals möglich ohne die wirklich talentierten Schauspieler in dieser Serie. Ich hab wirklich noch nie in meinem Leben einen Fünfzehn Jährigen gesehen der so unglaublich gut spielt beziehungsweise der deutlich besser spielt als viele langjährige Schauspieler. Wirklich Hut ab vor Owen Cooper der Junge hat ganz ganz großes Potenzial und ich wünsche ihm alles gute für die Zukunft. Auch Stephen Graham liefert hier die Performance seines Lebens ab. Ihm in dieser Rolle als Vater zu sehen ist jetzt schon eines meiner Highlights des Jahres wirklich krass. Aber ich möchte hier eigentlich niemanden auslassen, denn wirklich alle haben hier alles für diese Serie gegeben und ich bin so unfassbar dankbar dafür.

"Adolescence" ist vielleicht die Überraschung des Jahres für mich, weil ich diese Serie wirklich null auf dem Schirm hatte bis sie mir gezeigt wurde. Ein ganz großes Lob an die Macher, an das Kamerateam und an die Schauspieler und ganz ganz große Empfehlung sich diese Serie so schnell wie möglich anzusehen, aber habt die Taschentücher bereit.

Sometimes you get into a bit of a crisis of meaning with your Netflix subscription, but then something comes along that reminds you why you still have it. I think “Adolescence” was just such a thing for many people. The mini-series from Great Britain caused quite a stir.
I was skeptical at first, but then I was introduced to the series very well. At the beginning I just thought that what everyone found so blatant, namely that every episode was a one-shot, was the only thing that gave this series hype and that there was nothing more to it, but I was clearly taught better. "Adolescence" is a really incredibly good, profound and emotionally stirring character drama with a great built-in socio-critical component about misogyny, toxic masculinity and the dangers of social media at a young age.

A family struggling with trust, cohesion and despair as 14 year old Jamie Miller is accused of murder. This is portrayed and dealt with by this series in a way that I have never seen before. Each of the four episodes shows a different situation, a different perspective of the people involved in the case. The viewers only ever follow the events from the perspective of the people who are currently on location, which is of course due to the fact that, as already mentioned, everything was shot in one-shot episodes. This means that you can feel yourself in every perspective because you only have this limited view of the course of the case. It's such an incredibly ingenious concept, I could really jump for joy.
Of course, this would never be possible without the really talented actors in this series. I've really never seen a fifteen year old act so incredibly well in my life, or rather act much better than many veteran actors. Hats off to Owen Cooper, the boy has great potential and I wish him all the best for the future. Stephen Graham also delivers the performance of his life here. Seeing him in this role as the father is already one of my highlights of the year. But I don't really want to leave anyone out here, because everyone here has really given their all for this series and I'm so incredibly grateful for that.

“Adolescence” is perhaps the surprise of the year for me, because I really didn't have this series on my radar until it was shown to me. Kudos to the makers, the camera team and the actors and I highly recommend watching this series as soon as possible, but have the tissues ready.

Und mal wieder ein Film der an mir vorbei gegangen ist als alle ihn geguckt haben. Neben den ganzen Diskussionen über die Benutzung von Künstlicher Intelligenz ging nach meiner Auffassung der eigentliche Film ziemlich unter. Naja ich hab mich jetzt dazu entschieden "Late Night with the Devil" unabhängig von davon zu bewerten, was aber nichts an meiner Abneigung zur Benutzung von KI ändert.

"Late Night with the Devil" ist nämlich schonmal vorraus genommen ein wirklich guter Film. Allein das Konzept ist natürlich schon Genial. Es ist zwar kein neues ich weiß jetzt nicht mehr wie der Film hieß, aber es gab in der Vergangenheit auf jeden Fall schonmal einen Horrorfilm im Gewand einer Talkshow. Diese Moderne Aufmachung die man hier zu Gesicht bekommt, ist aber auch unglaublich gut umgesetzt. Es wird einfach durch dieses setting eine so einzigartige Atmosphäre erschaffen die wirklich sehr immersiv ist.
Der Film versteht sich mit kleinen Tricks und Kniffen in die Köpfe der Zuschauer zu schleichen seien es Blicke in die Kamera oder Störungen im Bild. In seinen krassen Momenten brilliert hier auch der immer mal wieder eingebaute Body-horror der wirklich gut umgesetzt ist.
Getragen wird der Film vor allem durch die Performances von David Dastmalchian und Ingrid Torelli, die wirklich einfach nur furchteinflößend ist.

Abgesehen von den Vorwürfen die viel des eigentlichen Films überschattet haben versteckt sich hier also ein wirklich guter Film hinter. Was für mich den Film dann aber doch ein bisschen kaputt gemacht hat war das Ende was für mich sehr plötzlich kam und ich hatte das Gefühl das man diesen Film deutlich besser azählen hätte können.
Trotzdem war ich wirklich beeindruckt und ich hab mich gerne in diese Tolle Atmosphäre fallen gelassen.

And yet another movie that ed me by when everyone was watching it. Apart from all the discussions about the use of artificial intelligence, the actual movie was pretty much lost in my opinion. Well, I've now decided to rate “Late Night with the Devil” independently of that, but that doesn't change my aversion to the use of AI.

“Late Night with the Devil” is a really good movie to begin with. The concept alone is of course brilliant. It's not a new movie, I can't what it was called, but there has definitely been a horror movie in the guise of a talk show in the past. This modern look that you get to see here is also incredibly well realized. The setting creates such a unique atmosphere that is really very immersive.
The movie knows how to sneak into the viewer's mind with little tricks, be it glances into the camera or disturbances in the picture. In its more blatant moments, the occasional body horror is also brilliant and really well realized.
The film is carried above all by the performances of David Dastmalchian and Ingrid Torelli, who is simply terrifying.

Apart from the accusations that overshadowed a lot of the actual movie, there is a really good movie behind it. What ruined the movie a bit for me was the ending, which came very suddenly for me and I had the feeling that this movie could have been told much better.
Nevertheless, I was really impressed and I enjoyed letting myself fall into this great atmosphere.

Als ich Top Secret mit meiner Freundin am letzten Samstag geguckt habe, ahnte ich natürlich noch nicht daß Val Kilmer in ein Paar Tagen sterben würde. Ich hatte aber vor dem Film ein wirklich schönes Gespräch über ihn und seine Karriere, wie sehr ich ihn in Heat mochte und wie sehr mich die Dokumentation über ihn von 2021 mitgenommen und diesem Schauspieler näher gebracht hat. Jetzt im Nachhinein wirkt das für mich wie ein wirklich schöner Abschied an ihn von meiner Seite auch wenn da noch nicht daran zu denken war. Val Kilmer hat mich immer auch vor allem neben seiner Schauspielerei als Person angesprochen.

Ber eben mal ein Paar Worte zum Film. "Top Secret" ist einr dieser Komödien die ich schon seit meiner Kindheit absolut genial finde. Den Vorreiter dieser Filme "Airplane" habe ich genau wie "Naked Gun" hoch und runter geschaut. Deswegen war ich auch von mir selbst verwundert das ich nie wirklich was von "Top Secret" gehört habe. Das war nämlich ein großer Fehler, denn dieser Film ist die absolute Spitzenklasse, die Creme de la creme von comedy. An Genialität, spaß und Blödheit kommt das hier wirklich sehr nah an meinen Genre Favoriten "Airplane" ran. Schlag auf schlag bekommt man hier feinsten slap Stick und herrlichen Klamauk zu sehen. Ein wahres Meisterwerk der Komödie!

When I watched Top Secret with my girlfriend last Saturday, I had no idea that Val Kilmer would die in a few days. But I had a really nice conversation before the movie about him and his career, how much I liked him in Heat and how much the documentary about him from 2021 took me away and brought me closer to this actor. Now, in retrospect, it seems like a really nice farewell to him from my side, even if I hadn't thought about it at the time. Val Kilmer has always appealed to me as a person in addition to his acting.

Just a few words about the movie. “Top Secret” is one of those comedies that I've found absolutely brilliant since I was a child. I watched the forerunner of these films, “Airplane”, up and down, just like “Naked Gun”. That's why I was surprised at myself that I'd never really heard of “Top Secret”. That was a big mistake, because this movie is the absolute top class, the crème de la crème of comedy. In of ingenuity, fun and silliness, this really comes very close to my genre favorite “Airplane”. You get to see the finest slap stick and wonderful fuss. A true masterpiece of comedy!

Ich weiß ja nicht. Ich hatte schon meine Vorbehalte zu diesem Film, da Shyamalans Filme ja seit längerem immer so hit or miss sind (die letzten anscheinend eher alle miss) Trotzdem hatte ich mich auf diesen Film gefreut, aber ihn im Kino vert, sodass ich ihn jetzt erst nachgeholt habe. Leider kam es eher zur Erfüllung meiner Befürchtungen als zu einer Überraschung.

Also ich mochte auf jeden Fall den Anfang und die Art wie Cooper als Vater porträtiert wird das ist alles wirklich gut gemacht. Trap driftet dann jedoch in eine komische Richtung ab und leidet leider sehr unter dem wirklich schwachen Drehbuch. Die Location ist eigentlich auch ganz cool, aber hier entspricht nichts wirklich der Realität eines Konzertes und Menschen sind konstant außerhalb der Halle damit der Plot am laufen gehalten wird. Leider ging mir auch im Verlauf des Films komplett die Spannung verloren die anfangs noch geboten war. Gipfeln tut das alles in einem wirklich Lahmen Ende mit lauter Plot-Holes. Trap ist leider einer der Filme M. Night Shyamalans die für mich nicht wirklich funktioniert haben.

I already had my reservations about this film, as Shyamalan's films have always been so hit or miss for a long time (the last few seem to be all miss) Nevertheless, I was looking forward to this film, but missed it in the cinema, so I've only now caught up with it. Unfortunately, it was more of a fulfillment of my fears than a surprise.

So I definitely liked the beginning and the way Cooper is portrayed as a father, it's all really well done. However, Trap then drifts off in a weird direction and unfortunately suffers a lot from the really weak script. The location is actually quite cool, but nothing here really corresponds to the reality of a concert and people are constantly outside the hall to keep the plot going. Unfortunately, as the movie progressed, I completely lost the tension that was still there at the beginning. It all culminates in a really lame ending with lots of plot-holes. Trap is unfortunately one of M. Night Shyamalan's films that didn't really work for me.

Flow hat für mich nochmal eine neue Dimension eines Feel Good Films freigeschaltet. Nichts tut so gut wie ein Film der dich einfach in seine Arme nimmt und auf eine tolle Herzerwärmende und emotionale Reise mitnimmt. Genau das macht Flow. Ab Sekunde eins findet man sich hier in einem Abenteuer wieder welches immersiver nicht sein könnte. Alleine wegen dem Aspekt der immersion empfehle ich auf jeden Fall das man sich nach Möglichkeit diesen Film im Kino ansieht. Flow erzählt nämlich nicht nur eine tolle Geschichte über Freundschaft, Solidarität, Zusammenhalt und das Leben in einer Gemeinschaft, sondern das alles sieht einfach auch verdammt gut aus. Erst im Nachhinein hab ich erfahren das dieser Film mit Blender, dem kostenlosen Programm auf Windows PC's erstellt wurde. Eine absolute Meisterleistung wenn ihr mich fragt.
Ein weiterer wirklich schöner Aspekt des Films ist der Score der mir hier wirklich gut gefallen hat.

Dann komme ich jetzt noch einmal zum für mich wichtigsten Teil des Films nämlich die Wirkung. Flow spielt nämlich in einer Welt in der es keine Menschen mehr gibt. Zurückgelassen wurden nur Gebäude und ein paar Alltagsgegenstände. So lange scheinen sie aber auch noch nicht weg zu sein. Warum und ob die Menschen wirklich komplett verschwunden sind wird aber offen gelassen. Wenn man aber drüber nachdenkt markiert die Flut um die es geht einen Neuanfang, eine neue Welt wenn man so will. Das würde auch die Parallelen zur biblischen Geschichte von der Arche Noa erklären, nur das hier ein neues Zeitalter der Tiere eingeleitet wird, weil die Menschen diesen Planeten unterworfen haben und ihn bis zu ihrer eigenen Auslöschung zerstört haben.
Flow ist zweifelsohne ein unglaublich schönes Erlebnis und ein absolutes Meisterwerk des Animationsfilms. Ganz große Empfehlung!

Flow has unlocked a new dimension of a feel good movie for me. Nothing feels as good as a movie that simply takes you in its arms and takes you on a great heartwarming and emotional journey. That's exactly what Flow does. From the very first second, you find yourself in an adventure that couldn't be more immersive. For the immersion aspect alone, I definitely recommend seeing this movie in the cinema if possible. Flow not only tells a great story about friendship, solidarity, cohesion and life in a community, but it also looks damn good. I only found out afterwards that this film was created with Blender, the free program on Windows PCs. An absolute masterpiece if you ask me.
Another really nice aspect of the movie is the score, which I really liked.

Then I come back to the most important part of the movie for me, namely the effect. Flow is set in a world where there are no more people. Only buildings and a few everyday objects have been left behind. But they don't seem to have been gone that long. Why and whether the people have really disappeared completely is left open. But if you think about it, the flood in question marks a new beginning, a new world if you like. That would also explain the parallels with the biblical story of Noah's Ark, except that here a new age of animals is ushered in because humans have subjugated this planet and destroyed it to the point of their own extinction.
Flow is undoubtedly an incredibly beautiful experience and an absolute masterpiece of animated film. Highly recommended!
