Help me flesh this out!
Rules - Can't just be the destruction of Los Angeles, it must also portray the social environment of communities in southern California before, during, or in the aftermath of some social, economic, natural, preternatural, or supernatural collapse.
I'm more interested in seeing life and world building post societal destabilization than I am in just seeing the city get wrecked (though I'm not against that).
Dystopia's created by slow acting socio/political shifts (escalating crime rates, rampant drug use, conservative/liberal policies taken to their extremes, etc.) are just as valid as upheavals caused by sudden catastrophes.
I'm starting with only a few titles to set the mood. I'm more interested in cult & low budget cinema than straight up blockbusters, but let's see what you got!
