nothing quite like the thrill of that 4 star rating

yeah, whatever, sure! the first half is so creative and inspired and filled with some genuinely well crafted moments and great character development thats it’s sad the second half throws it all out the window in favor of being boring, nothing from the in-movie worked for me. after it ended i realized all of my enjoyment came from just watching nic cage do his thing
mazes are so cool, just running around corners not knowing where you are. i always considered myself to be a bit of a maze aficionado, id love to take a stab at this one, because i don’t know - i’ve seen harder! one of the workers remarked it would take an hour to get out and there’s just no way. i was yelling at danny to run THROUGH one of the bushes but that sacrifices the integrity of the maze so at the same time i get it. more movies need hedge or corn mazes!
personally vibed with everything about this. satisfies my medieval epic craving. lives in the intersection of taking it’s time to tell the story and packing so much into every scene, yet at its core it’s a simple story of what it means to you to honor yourself and your family. i want to watch the commentary or just a long youtube video to soak everything in. plus dev patel is sooo hot and everyone knows.
