going at my own pace!

Emotional and very personal. Does a great job of showing the varying perspectives of every party involved: the daughters, mothers, and fathers. I appreciated that the film crew didn’t directionally go into what the fathers’ reasons for incarceration were, it would’ve reduced them to their sentences and that wasn’t what the documentary should’ve been about. Educates about the unseen systemic struggles with visitations that people on the outside don’t have knowledge of. We should value the ability to share human touch with the ones we love - it isn’t a given for everyone.
“Maud’dib, they wait for you.”
The cinematic experience, it’s absolutely unreal to watch in theaters. I think the only point it suffers in is having “too much” packed in, but everything is given a fair amount of time spent and it doesn’t rush like an over-packed movie. A little confusing as someone that hasn’t read the books, but it’s an excellent sequel to Dune with much more suspense and action. (I honestly thought it was better than the first.) There’s not really a single dull or boring moment. Chani’s the best.
Michael Cera is my everything, he just doesn’t know it yet.
The direction the movie took was entirely unexpected DESPITE all of the promotion and trailers, which is movie marketing done right. Genuinely baffled at the turnout and audience reception, I saw it 3 days after it came out and around 3/4 of the theater audience were still wearing pink. You just don’t get stuff like that anymore and it’s refreshing to see!
I think it says a lot about a movie if you’re itching for a rewatch immediately after seeing it.
