High hopes dashed after the first half.. just scary & not much else. Dark for seemingly no reason. The trend of “psychological horror” to just be trauma-bait is very played out, predictable & boring. Some good gross out shit & really creepy for sure, but blegh.. just a lot of misfires.

Second watch, first in a theatre. Deeply fucking disturbing. Paced perfectly, John Saxon appearance, directed by our “A Christmas Story” director, a whacked out & troubling ending, the first instance (I can think of at least) of “THE CALL”… a perfect marriage of elements all to create a Yuletide classick!!!
