The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2

2012

★★★

As has been the case through this series, the middle act where the story gets bogged down with the vampire lore and inter-vampire politics and whatever really dragged for me (especially since that was right when my edible kicked in) but the first act about Bella learning about (and loving) being a vampire and the last act silliness are so silly and goofy that it ultimately becomes worthwhile I guess. Stewart is having fun, Lautner gets to play something other than pouty friend-zoned loser, Michael Sheen is gnawing at every bit of scenery he can get his hands on, most everyone seems into it. Also that very final scene was kind of the most romantic moment of the whole series? I found it surprisingly moving. And then that the big final curtain call ending credits as "A Thousand Years" goes on for eight minutes, great note to go out on.
