First one is amazing for what it is, but this movie is Dune. This absolutely nailed for me how reading the book felt, and as a result I was so much more emotionally captivated this time around. Tempted to edit my rating of the first one to emphasise just how much of a step up this is in my eyes.

The newcomers are all excellent and those returning are even stronger this time, but the standout in my eyes is surprisingly Zendaya. There’s so much riding on her performance, and she nails every nuance of Chani required to carry this story. 

One of the best sequels of all time.
One of the best sci-fi films of all time. 
One of those movies we haven’t really gotten since Lord of the Rings 20 years ago.
