Feels like a REAL MOVIE (derogatory)

Hadn’t seen this in a long time. Watched it after rereading the novel. It’s still a mostly good movie, but at the same time it’s a terrible adaptation. Schrader (and probably Scorsese and whoever else) was out of his depth with Kazantzakis. And the score is unbelievably bad. I might elaborate later
Hate this, but I think that’s more because of me than it. I have one cousin and can’t think of anyone I’ve known who’s openly italian-american. I feel lucky to have never had any uncles, except for one I never heard speak until five years after he and my aunt got divorced. If I had uncles capable of speaking I think I would have turned out even worse than I did.
I guess I’m saying I can’t relate to this…
