I'm still new to French New Wave cinema. I've seen three of Truffaut's films: loved the first (400 Blows), liked the second (Shoot the Piano Player), and was disappointed by the third (Jules et Jim). The only other film I saw was Godard's Breathless, which I thought was fine (I could see how it was so influential, especially with its use of jump cuts, but it kept me emotionally distant). Jacque Demy's The Umbrellas of Cherbourg is now my favorite…
