Absolutely gutting film. This is my first time watching as a true adult and I think I’m good on it for the rest of my life now.
Its exercise in style over ‘substance’ (🥲😏) gets a bit redundant, but it’s truly an unforgettable and unflinchingly grim film, respectfully.
Growing up around addition this very much hits home and the direction is incredible. Clint Mansell’s score is iconic and he doesn’t get enough props for it.
Let me start by saying if this is just Jerry’s way of demonstrating you can’t be funny within the confines of being PC, mission accomplished. If he actually wanted to make a legit comedy, he’s failed on every conceivable level.
Why was this made? Who is this for? How was this the story and movie that brought Jerry back???

This tries so hard to have a lot to say about the current state of work life balance and AI in the US and while there is a LOT to say about it, the movie mostly falls flat. While I was intrigued to see how it all played out, it’s 20 minutes too long and it trips over itself in the end with a predicable and lame conclusion. There is definitely a reason Disney dumped this on a Monday with absolutely 0 promotion.
