Wow. Just wow. Denis Villeneuve you have my heart. Dune Part 2 is a masterpiece of epic proportions, pushing the limits of what it means to be a cinematic achievement.
The world Villeneuve has built is so vast yet so detailed. Nothing feels half-baked. Everything has a purpose. The imagery is superb, the textures uber-layered with a finesse that is rarely seen. This film is a visual marvel, one of the best looking features you’re ever likely to see.

‘And now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds’
Oppenheimer is the best movie of 2023. This is cinema at the absolute peak of it’s powers. It is terrifyingly, hauntingly beautiful.
I am so happy that Cillian Murphy finally gets his turn as the leading man in a Christopher Nolan film, and wow does he deliver. This is the sort of performance that is ed long after the fact - utterly, utterly mesmerising as he puts in the performance of a…

With uncomfortable imagery; heavy, visceral shots; and, some ingenious, original trap design, Saw X flourishes and is an absolute must see for fans of gore. There are also some really nice callbacks to…
Wes Anderson and Ronald Dahl are a match made in heaven. I’m so happy this was as good as I’d hoped given how much I loved Dahl’s books as a child.
Anderson’s typical stylistic flair shines through in abundance - I love the way the cast are essentially reading the screenplay to the viewer. Speaking of the cast, each of them are great in their multiple roles.
My personal favourite is Benedict Cumberbatch, he fits so well with Anderson’s aesthetic and…
