A pretty incredible ending if you can sit through the dragging second act. A political loony toon aggrandizing the primp and polish of a corporate patriarch and punching down on the ionately unrefined communist from east Berlin is an odd take to watch from our corner office of late stage capitalism. But it was the 60s and they did it well!

A sensory assault. The only scene that Nolan gave me enough time for breath and feel anything was Oppie sitting at his kitchen table after building the bomb, smoking and grappling with his decisions. It's a low bar if a cigarette was the highlight of a movie for me, but that's where we're at I guess. Maybe shooting your movie on medium format isn't enough to make it beautiful or good. Hopeful for Barbie.
