Source Code

2011

2011’s source code is a fusion of past Hitchcock thrillers and various adaptations of the works of Phillip K Dick. This culmination of genres results in perhaps one of the most Original and exciting science fiction movies that I’ve witnessed in recent memory. Duncan Jones’ direction is very slick, the same can be said about the film’s editing. At about 90 minutes, the film is extremely lean on filler but is competent in how it extends exposition of the films rules to the viewer. Jake Gyllenhaal is excellent as an Everyman soldier who is trust into the role of a time manipulating detective. Source code is a great time for lovers of science fiction, as well as the mystery genre.
