Even though the previous two entries in the series were mostly bad, this felt like the most frustrating. The narrative through line feels forced but that need not have undermined the rest of the film. 

For me the biggest disappointment is the poor use of the webcam gimmick, especially given that the two principal characters (Alex and Ben) feel like ideal candidates to take advantage of this. Rather than build the film around webcam-based scares, a separate (much less compelling)…
