You know, the most popular review isn't wrong. A Man Called Otto really is the Disney-Fication of Gran Torino. Now some will probably say "oh, Tom Hanks is a grumpy old man who has new neighbors moving in and later does good deeds for others, just like Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino."
