Wow.
The music sequences in the juke t - wow.
The horror sequences - wow.
I just love the sheer confidence dripping off this thing. This is the kind of auteur original project that needs to be funded. Directed with style and power by Coogler, a brilliant mix of genres and themes. Beautiful cinematography and a barnstorming score, with terrific performances from Jordan, Mosaku, Caton, O'Connell and my MVP, Delroy goddamn Lindo.

All he needed was a widdle bit of love.
Also, I find it strangely frustrating to think that life pre-1960 wasn't lived in black and white. But hey, c'est moi.

Stunning stuff.
Remarkable practical effects, beautiful cinematography, a great score, brilliantly mounting tension, genuine terror and an iconic ending.
A fantastic companion piece to 2 other masterpieces of the era, Alien and The Shining.

YES. TERRIFIC.
Fantastic action and brilliant character work, a classic crime movie with excellent central performances and a great ending.
My unintentional Natalie Portman triple is complete. She is brilliant.
