the cinematography and the writing (especially the writing of the characters) and the editing and the wardrobe and literally everything about this movie is so brain scratching and engaging holy shit. any movie that has an unstable mother/daughter relationship is bound get me very emotional n mitski at the end to top it all off UGSHSHXB THIS WAS SO GOOD

this is the most devistating cry i’ve ever had crying to any film. i cry not because of a made up story in some movie but because these are real issues and the reality that all arab queer ppl go through every fucking day, a constant battle that is so so tiring. mashrou leila have and always will be an inspiration to me, hamed sinno and their music will always be revolutionary and will permanently hold a part of my soul. i am genuinely not the same person that i was before i started listening to mashrou leila, i have been forever altered, from my perspective on myself to my perspective on my community. mashrou leila have not only inspired me musically, but to fight for what’s right, and to stay true to myself even if the whole world is against me. i adore the impact this band has had on not only beirut or lebanon but all the middle east and it gives me so much hope seeing that. rest in power sarah hegazi, and long live the resistance.

oh my god. i mean genuinely oh my fucking god. every scene is so unique in its own way, this film is so visually mesmerising. the silences and suspense throughout the film were used SOOO well i held my breath for half the movie. and the scene where he was telling the other dude the story about the dream, and the exact thing happened right after he told him is so OMGGG this movie is so well done i actually think everything about it is perfect

“i do i do i do i do” even when being with felix as he was dying was scooping his guts out and stomping on it over and over again, ned never left. he loved him and was devout to him, even felix and millions others DIED because the idiots in charge didn’t do anything. they were the reason for millions of deaths and it’s STILL not talked about enough oh my GOD this film made me cry 3 times.

this film is so entrancing, you can stare at a screen for two hours with minimal talking and you can still feel the raw emotion radiating from it
