The MCU Marathon continues with the greatest MCU film by a long shot being Avengers: Infinity War. You really can't beat this film, it's truly amazing in every way. What more can I say? Love the story, characters, action, you name it. The only thing keeping this film from a 100% is how they handled the Hulk. That was horrible and knowing what happens in Endgame sucks even more, but either way, PEAK CINEMA AT ITS FINEST!

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE REWATCH MARATHON

The Mission: Impossible Rewatch Marathon continues with M: I 2. I first watched this film in July of 2023, originally giving it 2 stars. This film

This film did not age well at all. From the slow-mo shots, to the atrocious dialogue, the horny scenes/characters, it's such a weird film. I don't think the plot is difficult to follow, like the first entry, but it's so boring to follow and very predictable. Once again, the dialogue writing is horrible. Like, here's a couple of examples of what I mean:

"Well, this is not Mission: Difficult, Mr. Hunt. It's Mission: Impossible."

"What are you gonna do? Spank me?"

"And come out here, you bad girl."

"You know women, mate. Like monkeys they are."

LIKE WHAT????? AWFUL. JUST AWFUL, and it's just some of it. Awful line delivery and acting, too. I did like this film has some more action and less espionage, but the slow-mos ruin it completely for me. The villain is weak and worse than in the first film. The only thing the film kinda does right is that the cinematography isn't bad, but that's pretty much it. Mission: Impossible 3 next and I'm excited for it!

Also, what's with the random shot of the Dove going through some fire doorway?? Tom Cruise aura farming moment???

The MCU Marathon continues with Ant-Man and the Wasp! On rewatch, I enjoyed the first Ant-Man a lot and gave it 3.5 stars. I've seen this film a couple of times and originally gave it a 2.5-star rating, which, upon rewatch, I think is too low. I feel like it's around the same rating as Ant-Man, but slightly better.

Firstly, this film does a good job of building up towards Endgame with the post-credit scenes. Great way to build off Infinity War fs. For the film itself, I liked the story here, but there wasn't as much development for Scott's character as in the first one. You can see his redemption arc and his dynamic big time in the first film, whereas here, not as much. I did like the story being around Wasp (Hope) and Hank trying to get Janet back from the Quantum Realm. The chemistry between Scott and Hope is very much there, and I enjoy it a lot. The tone of the film is fun, too. Luis and his crew, of course, are entertaining as they always are. The visuals are on par with the first film, if not better and more polished this time around. The action is more entertaining as well.

One of my other criticisms would also be the villains. Ghost is the main villain and is more of a broken character than a villain, in my opinion. I liked seeing a small backstory for her character at a young age, seeing her get her abilities, and also experiencing the trauma of losing her parents. I don't really count Bill Foster as a villain. Sonny Burch, on the other hand, was a waste of Walter Goggins... I didn't think anything related to him in the film was necessary, and honestly thought leaving his character and storyline out would've made the film better. Overall, I enjoyed this film a lot more than I originally had, and I think the main things that make this film better than the first one are Ghost and the chemistry between Scott and Hope. It's sad Quantumania is a thing, man...

"I HAVE BEEN FALLING FOR 30 MINUTES!"

Me, whenever I rewatch Love and Thunder: "Takia, you had one job, just the one!"

The MCU Marathon continues with Thor: Ragnarok! I gotta say I've always liked this film, but it's always been 4 stars for me, and like, a low 4 stars if that makes sense. It's an enjoyable film, don't get me wrong, and easily the best Thor film, but idk why on every rewatch I can never raise the rating any higher. Thor is at his best in this film (before Infinity War, ofc), I love his dynamic with Loki as always, and it was nice seeing Hulk in here (before he got ruined). The Doctor Strange and Stan Lee cameos were peak too. Hela was a solid villain, and she was menacing, but there wasn't as much screentime for her as I would've liked, and I feel like there's more to her character that was missing, if I'm being honest.

I surprisingly liked the tonal shift in this film. Much different than the first two Thor films, which unfortunately gets ruined in the next Thor film, but we don't talk about that... One criticism I have of this film is the cinematography. You can tell this film was filmed behind a bunch of green screens, and it shows. Just a ton of ugly shots. I do think, however, the final act didn't look as bad. I thought the cinematography and color were good there, and it helped a bit since I did enjoy the 3rd act of this film a lot. Unlike Love and Thunder, I felt like the humor in this film wasn't bad. You can tell there's a ton of it, but it's not the most cringest written humor out there, and it made me chuckle a few times. Overall, definitely the best Thor film, but that's not saying much.

The Andor Marathon begins with S1! Once again, there's NO REASON for it to have taken so long for me to finish this season. I could've easily finished it at the end of April, not a whole month after I started the rewatch. I'll try my best to binge out S2 the best I can, especially with my spring semester over.

This is one of the best pieces of Star Wars content I have witnessed. Brilliant stories being told for both sides of the start of the Rebellion and the Empire. Cassian's journey was great in this, and he's definitely moved up the ladder of characters I enjoy in this franchise. The prison arc was obviously the best arc from this entire season, and I love how every storyline and all the characters connect in a way in the finale. I can't wait for S2 and once again, I gotta binge it AND rewatch Rogue Onr after it as ik it leads up to it.

The Mission: Impossible Rewatch Marathon begins now! I first watched this film in June of 2023, originally giving it 3 1/2 stars. It still stays at 3 1/2 stars, but my overall rating moves up just slightly.

I did enjoy the opening sequence of Ethan's crew dying (except the villain, ofc), Ethan being the only survivor, and being manipulated by Kittridge. Ethan Hunt holding the Bible and pointing out Job 3:14 in the next scene (and 3:15 later on) was peak!

I like the mystery plot, figuring out who got Ethan's Crew killed, and it ended up being Jim the whole time. It did feel a little complicated to follow, which can be said for all Mission: Impossible films tbh, but I feel like for the first film in the franchise, it should've been a little easier to follow imo. The small amount of action we get is a little fun and not huge on the characters, just yet. Still a fun film overall and a solid introduction to the franchise for sure. Rewatching M:I 2 next week...

Happy May 4th, everyone! We got another Tales series, and this time it was good. Much better than Tales of the Empire, that's for sure, and slightly worse than Tales of the Jedi. This time around, we get two stories, each focusing on either Asajj Ventress or Cad Bane. The Ventress episodes were solid, and I'm glad they didn't retcon the Dark Disciple novel at all. I feel like it could've ended better tbh, but the Cad Bane episodes were very good and are almost up there with the Dooku episode from TotJ. Give me more Tales series, please! TotJ S2, Tales of the Clones, Sith, etc.

The Star Wars Prequel Trilogy Rewatch Marathon continues with Attack of the Clones! Similarly to The Phantom Menace, I was also harsh on this film the times I previously watched it, but once again, my opinion has changed to be more positive.

I think both Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones are very close in overall rating for me. Both 3.5 stars, but this film is slightly worse. I can also see why most will find Phantom Menace to be better. Just like Phantom Menace, however, this film also had some hate when it first came out in 2002. I think this film does better in some areas than the Phantom Menace, but also does worse in different areas well. To start off, I found the story to be more enjoyable in this than in the Phantom Menace, but you can tell this time around it's still a bit inconsistent. I've seen many people say that George Lucas should've hired more writers or at least a new director for this film and I can kinda see where those people are coming from. This film is different than The Phantom Menace in a good and bad way. Firstly, I really liked seeing more stuff related with the Jedi this time around. In the Phantom Menace, we mainly follow Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, and occasionally see the Jedi Council in one scene, but here we get to see a ton more, especially in the Geonosis arena fight, that was pretty insane (I can't forget about the amazing score!). Also, seeing a scene of Yoda training younglings and the Jedi archives was cool too. Speaking of the Geonosis fight, the final battle was a lot of fun to watch and experience again. There were some fun action scenes in here as well besides that fight like Jango and Obi-Wan's fight, the Coruscant chase, but with those I felt the effects weren't the greatest which I can also say about most of this film and what Phantom Menace does better with. The film's effects don't age as well as episode I did imo. Same budget as The Phantom Menace and somehow looked worse which was unfortunate. The entire Geonosis fight, however, was fun, even the lightsaber duel that took place with Kenobi, Anakin, and even Yoda battling Dooku. The effects in that fight was good which was nice. Perhaps most of the budget went to the Geonosis fight scenes?

Speaking of Count Dooku, Christopher Lee's performance was great. He's definitely a standout performance in this which unfortunately isn't saying too much. I like the reveal of him being Qui-Gon's Master and also seeing a hint of the Death Star plans in this during the Geonosis fight was great too. My one issue is Dooku was mentioned in the opening crawl, but we don't see him until about an hour and 16 minutes in. There's films at there where the main villain isn't revealed until an hour in which I absolutely dislike in film. We do see Jango a bit before Dooku's introduction, but even with him, I felt we should've got more screentime especially since his death takes place in this film. Like Darth Maul in episode I, I feel like Jango is also a bit mysterious. I think we should've got some sort of explanation/flashback for Jango in this somehow to add depth to his character. He agreed to be cloned by Dooku, but is against the Republic. Perhaps, we could've seen something on why he agreed besides the huge personal gain he got, but that's just me.

I also found it funny that Palpatine wanted Pe assassinated so he sent Dooku, who sent Jango, who sent Zam Wesell, who sent some droid, to send two worms to assassinate her. Peak writing at its finest, but again, I guess it made the bounty hunter Jango a little more mysterious before we see he was the one who agreed to being cloned for the Clone Army. Idk still wish we saw a little more of him tbh. Besides the Pé assassination plot, Obi-Wan's journey to finding out about the Clone army and Geonosis wasn't horrible to follow. A tiny bit boring, but not super bad. The space fight between him and Jango after Jango and Boba escape Kamino was pretty fun. Other than Order 66 which doesn't happen till Revenge of the Sith, the Clones don't really have much characters until you get to the Clone Wars animated show which really helps when rewatching this entire trilogy.

Just like the Phantom Menace, the characters were also a lot of fun this time around too. With the screentime we get for Anakin and Obi-Wan together, I do love their dynamic as always. Their banter was funny at times. Don't get me started on that one scene where Anakin called Obi-Wan master 5 times in a row.... Now Anakin's dynamic with Pé I also thought was a bit fun too, but also awkward at the same time if that makes sense? The romantic dialogue was very on and off the entire film. One moment it felt awkward and another moment they seemed to really like each other, there never was really a balance with it until they got captured in the Droid factory which then they were pretty into the each other for the rest of the film. The dialogue could've been better in some places for sure, but it definitely wasn't the worst thing in the entire movie and I still love their chemistry together. I can definitely say though I'm literally Anakin with those interactions! The main thing the Prequels focus on is Anakin's backstory before turning into Darth Vader and this film definitely does a solid job building up to it. His mother's ing was a huge leap imo for it. Anakin had a nightmare of his mother which caused them to go to Tatooine to visit, only to find she got taken by the Tusken Raiders and eventually when Anakin found her, she died in his arms. This led to Anakin killing all the Tusken Raiders. Not just the men, but the women, and the children too... Once again, huge leap for his character to turn to the dark side which ofc we see more of in Revenge of the Sith.

I've already mentioned some of the negatives in this film like some of the dialogue between Anakin and Pé in this film, the short screentime for Dooku and Jango (debatable), and some of the performances. I think the effects and pacing were the worst parts of the film for me unfortunately. I think the better effects and pacing would've easily made this film higher than The Phantom Menace, if not, possibly even 4 stars imo, but it doesn't reach it. Attack of the Clones uses much more CGI than The Phantom Menace did and it's very noticeable. The pacing too was odd as well. When I mentioned the on and off romantic dialogue for Anakin and Pé. One moment we get them together on the Naboo plains and then the next scene Pé is almost rejecting Anakin after giving such an awkward/funny line delivery to her. Just some of the cuts and transitions to the next scene felt either odd or rushed imo.

"I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere. Not like here. Here everything is soft and smooth."

Overall, Attack of the Clones is still very enjoyable. I love the fights in this film, especially the big-scale Geonosis fight and the lightsaber duel at the end. The chemistry between some of the characters like Anakin and his dynamics with Pé and Obi-Wan were fun, and the story isn't the worst to follow and has potential, but the effects, pacing, and some of the film's execution falls flat unfortunately. I had the same enjoyable rating watching this as The Phantom Menace, but I found The Phantom Menace to just slightly take it due to it having better visuals and effects. I do feel like both films can definitely swap places any day of the week though. SEEING REVENGE OF THE SITH TONIGHT IN THEATERS!!

The Star Wars Prequel Trilogy Rewatch Marathon begins now! It's been a good couple of years since I rewatched episode 1 and with the re-release of Revenge of the Sith, you already know I had to rewatch episodes 1 and 2 before this Thursday. I was going to rewatch the Prequel Trilogy after the dumpster fire that was The Acolyte, but I didn't end up having time. For years, I've never liked this film and I never following along with the film and its political plot points. After rewatching it today, my opinion has changed.

I feel like this film has received a lot of hate in its past and to be fair, there was a lot of pressure on this film when it came out. The Original films are classics so it's hard to out beat them. I think this film is super important (just like the rest of the trilogy) to not only show Anakin's backstory, but also show a little bit of Palpatine's rise to power which I'm glad I noticed more on rewatch. The political side of the story wasn't really hard to follow, but also got a little boring so for new or younger viewers, I can see why some will think the same. I love more of the new lore we get with the Jedi council and the Sith and I liked the world building taking place throughout the film expanding the universe especially seeing new planets like Coruscant and Naboo. It's nice to see some galactic politics take place and it wasn't horrible, just a little on the boring side.

The score is excellent. Duel of the Fates alone is just magnificent. The action is mostly fun and I love the lightsaber choreography. Qui-Gon's first encounter with Darth Maul was alright, but the final fight was insanely well-done. Top 3 lightsaber duel in this franchise for sure. I I complained about the lack of screentime Maul had in this film and it still kinda stands, but now we have a lot more screentime of him in a bunch of canon animated projects including the Maul: Shadow Lord show. I guess him not having much screentime or dialogue gives him this mysterious vibe, but either way, we should've got a little more of him for sure.

" At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. At last we will have revenge."

I did like most of the characters this time around which is nice, including Jar Jar who gets less and less annoying the more I rewatch this film. He gets a little too goofy in the final act, but otherwise I thought he was still fine. I really like some of the character dynamics between Qui-Gon and Kenobi, and Qui-Gon and Anakin as well. It was nice seeing the start of Anakin and Pe together who wasn't bad in this film either. I personally still think they made Anakin too young in this film. They should've made a few years older and it still would've worked imo. Again, I still like the small snippets of Palpatine throughout the film, either him as a Senator or the Dark Lord himself and showing his slow rise to power which we see more of within the next two films.

The visuals were pretty solid as well, but let's get into some of the criticisms with this film. I think my main issue is some of the outdated CGI/effects. Definitely not the worst I've seen in a film, but it would've been nice if they mainly went in the route of the Originals with practical effects and puppeteering. Some of it was a bit overused and again, sometimes not the greatest to look at. What I will say however is the space battle in the final act and the pod-race actually looked pretty good. I thinking poorly of the pod-race, but it does have some importance to the story and looking at it on a visual standpoint, it really isn't that bad. I think the pacing in this film was alright just I previous mentioned with the political plot and some areas of the film do drag a bit like on Tatooine, but at the same time, it kinda makes sense for Anakin's story. Some tiny criticisms I have would probably be some of the stiff performances and dialogue writing, but again, it's not super horrible.

Overall, it's sad to see how critical I was to this film for many years and I'm glad I properly rewatched it this time around and gave it better review and rating. Not only that, but I should've went to go see the theatrical re-release last year and I never did unfortunately, but I enjoyed this way more on rewatch and I also loved seeing the memes once again. They never get old. I will be rewatching Attack of the Clones tomorrow (or Thursday morning depending on my schedule) so expect another review like this one for that and I will be rewatching Revenge of the Sith Thursday night. Please give me a loud crowd like the Minecraft movie please 🙏

For Drew Hancock's directorial debut, this was pretty solid. I hadn't seen too much promotion going into this film, which is nice as it gave me a few surprises, and I was almost going in blind. I decided to catch it while it just dropped on Max yesterday. Seeing as we're in 2025, I guess I shouldn't be surprised that AI will be mixed into the main plot of films. This one actually works. The cinematography was great, and it's nice that the budget was only $10 million. If it were made by Netflix, it would probably be $100-200 million at least. The performances were mostly great, especially by our two leads, Sophie Thatcher and Jack Quaid. Other than those two, I didn't really care much for the other characters, but that's about it. Overall, I enjoyed this!

My girlfriend recommended this to me, so I decided to watch it before it was taken off Netflix. This horror film is just unbelievably sad, bro. I mean, man, amazing performances and directing. The cinematography was great, and this film felt very suspenseful. This film felt demonic for sure, and I hate the ending. Just a super depressing film, but honestly, it wasn't the worst thing out there.

Now I can finally say that I've seen Wicked! This film was recommended to me by my GF so you already know I had to watch it while it's on Peacock. I decided to watch it with my Mom who had already seen the film two times prior. She isn't a fan of musicals, but ended up really enjoying this film for its story and also knowing that, I already knew I was in for some sort of treat, and now here we are. It's been so many years since I've seen the Wizard of OZ. No idea if that's a film I've should've rewatched before watching Wicked, but perhaps I'll rewatch it before part 2 comes out (or after it depends).

To start off, the visuals and cinematography in this film are absolutely gorgeous and colorful from beginning to end. It felt very practical and the production design was amazing. I can definitely see why this film had Oscar nominations. The story being slowly interconnected with the original Wizard of OZ is great and I can't wait to see it play out more in Part 2. Glinda and Elphaba's relationship in this film was pretty good once they started becoming friends. I think both leads did a good job with their roles. As I mentioned before, there are musicals in this film since it's based off the Broadway show and I gotta say, most of the musicals, if not all of them were really good. I'm no theater kid, but I thought the musicals were really good and can definitely see many people enjoying them. The only problem I had was when a serious scene was going on or something important was happening, there would be a musical thrown in my face and believe me when I say there a lot of musicals in this for obvious reasons. It got a little annoying because I'm trying to focus on the current scene and the story and then I have to sit throw another musical number which were good don't get me wrong. At least it ain't Emilia Perez...

The only other issue I had was the pacing which I could see being a problem for most as well. The runtime is 2 hours 40 minutes long and it takes us a little over an hour to see them become friends and almost two hours to arrive to Emerald City meanwhile in the Broadway show from what I heard, they are already friends. I'm not saying I want them to be friends the moment the film starts, no. I actually appreciate the fact we get more depth and backstory with these characters before they become friends and the plot kicks in. The film definitely could've been shorter in some places and I wouldn't be surprised if Wicked: For Good has this issue as well. Otherwise, I pretty much enjoyed the rest of the film for what it was. Great story, visuals, acting, and I enjoyed most of the characters so far as well. I'm definitely giving Wicked: For Good a shot in theaters later this year and perhaps it's in my top 10 most anticipated of the year.

Ain't no way we got Ke Huy Quan teaming up with Bushmaster (from Luke Cage) and a Property Brother against Marshawn Lynch and some other random guy. Marshawn Lynch also out here saying "Beast Mode!" like that's absolute cinema right there. 🖐🏼😮🖐🏼

Anyways, this was pretty disappointing. Can we give Ke Huy Quan a good script as a lead??? Because he was the only good thing to come out of the film besides some of action scenes which there wasn't much of imo, but the ones we got were pretty good imo and also that property brother cameo cause that was funny for some reason. This pretty much felt like a straight to streaming action flick so I'm surprised it had a theatrical release. It would've been nice to see more flashbacks with Ke Huy Quan's character and his past since the ones we got almost add nothing to the story. Overall, the characters felt very boring and stale. Only good thing you can say is that maybe some of the actors are recognizable? One of them was even from Markiplier's Edge of Sleep miniseries which is nice. Otherwise, this is an average and predictable action flick. Please just give my boy a good script.

Also someone got stabbed with a boba tea straw and died??? Make it make sense.

I finally got the time to watch The Gorge and I really enjoyed it! I love the mix of sci-fi and romance in this. It worked really well and I enjoyed the chemistry between both Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy's characters. It's sad this got a straight-to-streaming type release cause with the right promotion, this could've done well at the box office for sure. The story with the gorge and the tower watch is indeed interesting. I've seen people complain about the exposition in this and I can kinda see it too, but it wasn't a huge problem for me. The cinematography was solid as well, but I'm also sure people will find a way to complain about it. I will say the pacing wasn't great, especially in the first half of the film. Just a bunch of cuts and skips which almost made me confused. The action and dynamics were a lot of fun. The acting was also good and overall, I had a fun time watching!

I'll also try to be a bit more consistent on here and I'll try to expand and watch other films, even suggestions since the only films I have been planning to watch recently were only 2025 films, but again, if you want to see more of what I'm watching (TV Shows), check out my Serizalizd!

Pixar's second show and this was pretty good, and imo I found this to be better than Dream Productions. I liked how each episode focused on a different character apart of the baseball team we follow throughout the series and different scenarios they're in. There were a couple of standout episodes, with a couple average ones in there too, but the majority of the episodes were pretty solid. Finale was okay and could've been executed a bit better for sure, but otherwise, it was a fun binge. I doubt we'll get a Season 2, but if we do, it would be cool to see a different sport (American Football, Basketball, etc.) with different characters and scenarios they face as well.

I have no idea why it took me 2 weeks to get up to this film, but we're back! Sorry for being super inactive on Letterboxd in the past few weeks, I've been using Serizalizd daily to log shows and I'm currently watching a bunch at the moment so if you want to be up to date with what I'm watching, then be sure to follow me on there! (the link is at the bottom of this review + my profile).

I have never read any of the comics, but I've been excited to check out Dog Man ever since it's confirmation back in 2023. The animation in this is very colorful and spectacular. Thinking about it now, this is how those animated Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies should be like. The story present is straightforward and fun and the characters are very enjoyable. Especially Little Petey my boy. I really like Dog Man even though he can't speak and even the villain, Petey the Cat was pretty good too. I wish we honestly saw flashbacks for his character and how he became a villain instead of it being explained in dialogue only. In the beginning, we also saw what could've been flashbacks for the Dog and his owner before that horrifying origin (joke), but we never got that either. I did enjoy Petey and Dog Man having to put aside their differences and work together in the final act as well, and overall, it's still a really fun film and kid's will love this.

The Rebels Marathon continues with S3! Solid start to the season introducing Grand iral Thrawn and seeing where the Ghost Crew is after the S2 finale. Weakest opening for the show so far as seeing Hondo being as predictable and scummy as he always is, isn't anything new. You can see Ezra not being himself much in this episode and having a darker tone which may affect his character throughout the rest of the season.

Don't worry guys, Ezra's got a new cut from the barber!

Before I watch Dog Man, I wanted to give this film a shot since the animation style in Dog Man reminds me of this film. I've never seen this before either. It was honestly okay, kinda funny, and I had some fun with it. I like the animation style and fun tone, and it works well as a kid's movie. The two main leads George and Harold have a fun dynamic, but that's really about it. The villain was weak which isn't surprising. Captain Underpants himself was kinda just okay. The jokes didn't always hit which wasn't expected. I was expecting the humor to hit more, but unfortunately, it really didn't. Perhaps it felt a bit generic to me, but hopefully other people can enjoy this. I have a feeling Dog Man may improve on some of things I mentioned above or at least hopefully it does. Again, not a bad movie, but didn't like it as much as I would've thought. Dog Man soon!

"The Lord works in suspicious ways."

The Paddington marathon has been going on very nicely with the first two installments of the franchise and now it has concluded with the third film (for now until the fourth one releases). This is the first film I'm seeing in theaters for 2025, but unfortunately, the Paddington hot streak doesn't continue with the third installment...

The fact that Sally Hawkins and Paul King didn't return to this third installment was already a huge problem on its own. It also doesn't help that Sony is behind the project now. Recasting Sally for Emily Mortimer wasn't the best decision and of course, any emotional scene with Paddington and the newly casted Mrs. Brown wouldn't hit as hard. The character itself also felt a bit sidelined just like the rest of the Brown family. They didn't do much and the scenes just didn't hit hard. The charm and dynamics were just missing in this film. You can tell the direction of Paul King was absent too. The visuals, and set designs. You can tell it's different. Also just a mix of fun and boring. Mainly boring which is unfortunate for a Paddington film.

Paddington 2 had such a good and heartwarming ending with Paddington and Aunt Lucy reuniting and then this film starts with them separated in what seems like a big-time jump between this and the second film. If they wanted to make a third film, it should've been focused on Paddington and Aunt Lucy together. Not traveling to a new country just to have Paddington explore for his Aunt again who he was literally with at the end of the previous film. Perhaps it feels like there's a film missing or maybe this one just didn't need to be made because honestly, two films are enough. It doesn't make sense to have the third film to make them reunite AGAIN, just for him to go back home and not spend much time with her. Just an odd choice IMO. They even pulled a bait and switch as well to make it seem like Paddington was gonna stay in Peru, but he wasn't, just to have the grandma stay in Peru and the sister go off to college instead. At that point, half the family is already separated so Paddington should've just stayed in Peru with his Aunt.

The humor and charm in this film didn't hit as hard compared to the first two films, unfortunately. The "villain" in this was extremely weak. Why do these films have to make nun jokes? Not sure if I'm supposed to be offended or find it funny, even in a Paddington film. Olivia Colman was fine, but like, why the nun jokes? Antonio Banderas was fun in his role of course. The film switches between both characters having you guess who is the actual villain in this film and it ended up being Olivia Colman's character acting as a nun. The Hugh Grant cameo in the post-credits was nice at least, but that's it.

Unfortunately, the third installment for Paddington is such a downgrade. If you adored the first two films like me, you may somewhat enjoy this one, but if you couldn't get into the first two films, don't bother trying to get into this. The film had some fun moments as usual, but it was lacking and got boring after a while. Not the greatest start to watching a film in theaters this year, but hopefully it gets better from here.

"Who are you in this vast multiverse, Mr. Strange?"

The MCU marathon continues with Doctor Strange! It's been a while since I've last seen this. This is either my second or third viewing of the film. I originally gave this film 3 stars, but now I am raising it to 3.5. I liked the origin of Strange and he got his powers (even though he got them pretty fast IMO). Other than Strange, I wasn't huge on many of the characters. Wong and Christine were nice additions, of course, Ancient One was alright, but the main villain of the film, Kaecilius was pretty weak. His motivations were there, but he was very underutilized and definitely needed more screen time. I liked seeing Mordo slowly turn, but the post-credit scene has gone nowhere and we haven't seen the dude since...

The visuals were mostly great and look better than the majority of the MCU films before and after this one. The same goes for the acting which was nice. The action and pacing were alright. Strange's bargain with Dormmau was cool and funny final act. Solid origin for Strange and just overall, it's solid. The average rating is fair for it, but it wasn't as horrible as when I last rewatched it.

If I had a nickel everytime a villain in a movie I've seen this month dressed as a nun in disguise, I'd have two nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened twice (Paddington 2 was the other movie).

Finally watched my first film to release in 2025! Wanted to watch this on Valentine's Day with my Bird Kali, but didn't have the time too so I watched it this morning with her. My cats were there too and it was fun. These Aardman movies are so much fun I can't lie. Such a fun story, bringing back Feathers McGraw from a short that came out in the 90s was great and I love how they continued it. The animation, characters and some of their development, and the story was all great. Not being bias, but I liked how Feathers was used in this. He's just him man. Really really fun film and I'm gonna need like 10 more of these.

The Paddington Marathon continues with the sequel! A 4.2 average rating excited me, and I can gladly say this was a pleasant surprise! From the fun and emotional storytelling to the humor and beautiful and colorful cinematography. This was so much fun! I'm surprised I've never seen this before, but I'm thrilled I did. The characters were all enjoyable as they were in the first film and even some of the new characters were fun in this as well. Hugh Grant is a solid villain in this although I would've liked to see him arrested at the end so idk why they skipped over it, but otherwise, it was very enjoyable and fun! Especially the prison scenes because those were the funniest scenes in the film. Great pacing, I love the theme of kindness, and of course, Paddington reuniting with his Aunt Lucy at the end of the film to close it off was very emotional! ABSOLUTE CINEMA!!

Seeing Paddington in Peru next week!

Skeleton Crew is such a new change of pace for Star Wars projects that are being released. Easily 10x times better than the Acolyte that's for sure. Sad this doesn't have high views count on Disney Plus . I believe it's the lowest. This is also a show I should've started since it dropped in December and not take super long to finish, but here we are. Classic Evan moment right there. I really liked the adventure the crew goes on and how the series wraps it up nicely. Not sure if this is a miniseries or if it'll get a Season 2, but the window was left open at the end. I had a lot of fun with this show so I'm a bit mixed if a Season 2 is even worth it, but we'll see soon.

Also, I will be continuing my Star Wars Rebels Marathon again which I had put on pause back in August last year so I'm glad to finally bring that back (even though I should've finished it but whatever). I also can't wait to do my Andor marathon as well! Gonna be PEAK!

Paddington. Such a heartwarming and hilarious film. Apparently I've seen this film once many many years ago so this is technically a rewatch, but I don't it well. This also kicks off the Paddington marathon prepping for Paddington 3. The opening scenes with Paddington and his original family was very sad (I'm assuming the 3rd film will dive deeper into this). I love the family scenes and chemistry throughout and the humor was actually mostly good in this. This was a really fun first film and I can't wait for the next two films!

"You're a good man with a good heart. And it's hard for a good man to be king."

This has to be at least the third time I've seen this film and it is still excellent in my eyes. This one of the better Superhero origins you'll get nowadays with not only a great origin and worldbuilding, but also a great villain! Michael B. Jordan was amazing as Killmonger and is easily one of the best villain debuts in the MCU to this day. Loved seeing the flashbacks for him which added more depth to this character. The performances were all around great especially Chadwick Boseman. Rest in Peace. I love the story of the Black Panther, even seeing flashbacks to the discovery of vibranium. The character in general were mostly enjoyable and I had a fun time. I will say, I did have a problem with some of the pacing moving along a bit slow. I'm fine with the runtime (unlike the second film), but this film moved along slow here and there, but it kinda worked. I think the CGI is probably the weakest part, especially in the final act with T'Challa and Killmonger's fight which looked like a PS2 cutscene. Besides the final act, most of the action throughout the film isn't horrible either which is always nice. It doesn't compare to something like Civil War, but still solid. Overall, I had a fun time rewatching this film and hopefully I can say the same for the sequel whenever I rewatch it.

I've only seen Black Widow once a few years ago and didn't like it much. This time around, I definitely enjoyed it more on rewatch. I do think the release of this film is late and it should've came out in between Infinity War and Endgame or possibly even before Infinity War. It only works with the post-credit scene at the end related to the aftermath of Endgame, but it could go without that scene and the film would still be fine.

Scarlett Johansson was great playing the role one final time. Love the introduction of Yelena. Her chemistry with Nat was great throughout the film. Her parents were okay characters, but the humor with their characters (and in the film in general) was pretty solid. The action sequences were also surprisingly solid as well. The villains were a bit weak. Not much screentime for both Dreykov and Taskmaster who both honestly had some potential. I've seen people complain about the Taskmaster gender swap, but I'm not super against it for this film and it kinda works with the story. Just the underutilization of the character affects the film as well. Cinematography was solid and this film is mostly better looking then some of the previous films. The green screen parts and some of the CGI can be very wacky though which makes it worse. The 3rd act wasn't a very good conclusion for the film either. The green screen and action in the sky didn't help the film's rating for me at all either. The pacing was okay, some areas felt a bit boring to get through, but overall wasn't as horrible as I ed.

Yes it has its flaws as does almost every film out there, but a 2.7 is way too low.
