Fairly predictable close-to-sport movie with a pathetic love story with the totally transparent Justin Timberlake. But it's always nice to see good old grumpy, swearing Clint Eastwood who always has a heart of gold.

After 5 minutes this movie started to stink. And yes, there was no mistake: this movie is not a serious movie. Predictibly bad story. We figured out the ending "twist" after 15 minutes. And the narrative is terribly naiv, overly romantic, like it was made for teenagers who are just experiencing what is romance and what is mistery. To make such movies you must have painfully deep messages and dialogs. Not this shallow fastfood mistery of life. I gave one star because americans can make cool pictures and I liked McConaughey in the beginning when he had to show that he is deadly depressed.

Why did you have to make it so Hollywood-dumb. It could have been a good one.

Really likable sadcore-fun-adventure movie with a sharp sarcastic drama view of the director. Could stay less on the kid-movie side for a more timeproof experience. Little Goonies vibe with the cute fat kid and the 80s OST, beautiful NZ nature, absolutely accebtable way to spend your time. It's okay to like Haribo if you eat it like a kid. You still can be sad about the world, don't worry.

"Denial" tries to make a wok dinner made of "court drama", "holocaust denial", "personal drama", "character portrayal". And we get all half cooked. The court drama part is rushed, the personal drama is cheesy, the character portrayal is not deep enough and the holocaust denial, which should be the fuel of this movie, is not giving any answer, any relief, any new perspective. And this is not a surprise, because the real trial itself seems like nothing but the egoistic duel of the parties which consumed enormous amount of money (loss of 1-2 millions GBP for Irving), and this trial gave nothing to the holocaust survivors. For some moments, when I was watching the clever approach of Anthony Julius, I thought this movie does not want to take the side of the author Deborah Lipstadt. But slowly it became clear to me that this movie is not cheesy not because the creators didn't want it, they were just not good enough to pull it off. Better watch "The Good Fight" for entertaining court action, and watch a russian movie for depth.

Sean Baker's next big shot after Tangerine is a thickened continuation of his vision. If you like the vibrant, authentic social drama he's into, you will be pleased by this maturing step of his. The 1.9M USD budget difference of the two movies helped to purify the concept and to apply Willem Dafoe, who could pull a very natural an lovable character with depth. And we can still enjoy some refreshingly good, first-acting performance by Bria Vinaite. American dream on filthy motel corridors, cheap petrol station unicorns and care of human beings - get this all packed by a really talented director when you have a chance.

Herzog can be too egoistic sometimes, but with this movie he managed to give: he holds the hand of the viewer with a heavily dripping, beautiful and deep sarcasm. A sarcasm which is picking the loose threads of human race.
A beautiful breakdown of a man, who tries to understand this all-fucked-up world around him, which is just as silly as himself. And this works like a charm with Michael Shannon's naturally killing sense humor and Willem Dafoe's intelligence. Just lean back and let this all flow through you together with the beautiful earthy music of Ernst Reijseger.

"Argo" is an absolutely watchable movie. If you need a "this really happened?" type of stuff where you can have a light IPA beer during enjoying some kind of an art, this movie will be fine. Also there is a good mix of actors, though they did not get real character portrayal chance - we don't have real depth, the movie optimizes on the real story. And Ben Affleck is no disappointment: he is exactly the same transparent ghost here like in all of his movies. My theory that if a man is not a good actor, just grows a beard, talks little, and he'll be okay. But not with Ben. Ben somehow manages to be an empty space in all movies. However, he pulled this movie off by directing it. Next time, for the Affleck family: Ben should be the director and Casey should be acting. But watch "Argo", life is okay.

A terrible movie. Not Mikkelsen-worthy.
