Fanny's mother warning her "I married for love" was so dark but you didn't feel Fanny's response to this at all?? She tells Henry that she fears poverty but it doesn't feel like it has any emotional weight at all, certainly not enough for her to rescind her previous rejection of him
I'll like nearly any Austen adaptation just because I love the underlying story but this one pushed the limit.
Frank Churchill is done very well, he's the most infuriating asshole version I've seen done (I want to hit him), and I like Kate Beckinsale as Emma, but the rest can be thrown out with the bathwater.
Not for those who want deep or meaningful analysis, or a lot of valuable information, but nothing can take away the experience of seeing my favourite works of art in such high high quality on the big screen like that, the opportunity to see them so clearly, even the small scale works, breathtaking.
Could honestly have done with more showing the visuals and less "commentary"
