When will Birdman be exposed for the shameless copying off of this
I started this thinking it was a werewolf feature, based off of nothing but the title alone. Decided to commit to the choice, and no particular regrets. It’s a very well made film, George C. Scott providing the gravitas he’s known for, for a fairly solid script. I just feel like maybe I would have jived with this more if I were in the mood for a haunted house tale.
Maybe it’s just 2025 brain, I can appreciate an atmospheric…
this pairs for a fun double feature with office space lowkey. you can tell joe lynch was a bit handicapped by the budget ie the lack of real gore in the feature. it’s otherwise a well made and fun feature that is bolstered by the two leads and very fun character actors we have as tertiary characters as well.
Great selection, Joe Bob! (she says through gritted teeth, fighting back tears)
Although I am shocked to see it, I am glad so many people seem to fuck with this bullshit as it it truly something and why not applaud nonsense. 1. Know The Work Rules: (Appropriate) Phil Tippett working on Mad God, his all-consuming ion project for 30 years which hospitalized him in the process “Awww, you’re sweet.” (Inappropriate) Hiroshi Harada single-handedly playing all roles of production and fully realizing an adaptation of his dream project in Midori after dumping his entire life’s savings on it since no studio would fund it since it was so disgusting “Hello, human resources?!?”
2. I watched this with Joe Bob and at first,…
idk kind of ugly to look at and pretty uninspired imo. i probably am suffering from my chronic "Everyone Loves This Horror Movie So I Don't" syndrome but it's realistically very tough for me to see people calling this mean spirited and nihilistic when it is a pretty predictable possession movie to me? some moments of gore were cool but nothing insane and nothing truly "wow" worthy. we were blessed with The Sadness back in 2021 which does this rough…
