I avoided this film my whole life, but I finally got around to watching it. As a kid, I was scared to watch it because people just die randomly while going about their day, and I always thought that could happen to me. But I actually ended up liking it, definitely very creative.
Mr. K is a nightmarish, Kafkaesque puzzle that never lets up. It’s relentless in its absurdity, throwing the main character, Mr. K, into a series of bizarre situations that make no sense. The more you try to understand it, the more it refuses to be understood. You’re just as lost as he is, with no way out. By the time the film ends, you’re as exhausted as Mr. K. The cinematography in Conclave is honestly beautiful. Some of the shots and angles are just insane in the best way. You can tell a lot of thought went into how each scene was framed. The way the camera moves through those grand Vatican spaces, or lingers on a quiet moment between characters, really pulls you in. It doesn’t just look good it feels meaningful, like the visuals are telling their own story alongside the dialogue. Definitely one of those films where you just want to sit back and take it all in
