Another one of those rare legacy sequels that's actually amazing and made by people who loved the original. It also feels like a return to form for Tim Burton. This might be his best movie since Alice In Wonderland. This review will have spoilers so please click away until you've seen it.
The best part of the movie is Michael Keaton as Betelgeuse . I think this is easily his best role and you can tell how much he loves playing this character. I'm happy that Betelgeuse got way more screentime in this movie than he did in the original film. Every moment that he's onscreen is pure gold. I always got excited whenever the movie cut back to him. The returning cast is also pretty good as well. Catherine O'Hara steals the show as she always does whenever she's onscreen. She is easily one of the funniest actresses ever and I'll never get sick of her comedic outbursts. I also think that Winona Ryder did a pretty decent job with the material that was given to her, we'll talk about that later though. The humor is this movie is just as great as it was in the original film. The whole audience in theater was laughing hard throughout the movie. The effects were top notch as well. I'm so glad that Tim Burton decided to continue using the practical effects that they did in the original film rather than relying on CGI.
Either way, this sequel was very fun!
