Folklore, ghosts, and very talkative cats. Reality isn't what it used to be. #horror

Bad Candy

Immaculate Halloween vibes in the beginning. Story-wise went on way too long—could have been cut down 1h 10 minutes or so. Fun watch for halfway to Halloween regardless.

His House

2020

★★★★ 2

His House genuinely moves the haunted house subgenre a few steps in a new, needed direction. Performances across the board are wonderful, but Wunmi Mosaku's work and presence really take center stage. (Also, bonus points for Matt Smith appearing like a specter from 2010.)

There is also an incredibly important highlight here about how utterly and completely Western culture is separated from the depth of the psychological image.

His House is an incredibly important film on a number of levels, and I hope the work achieves the status it deserves in the horror community

This made me scream and laugh in ways I haven't since Paranormal Activity.
