Villeneuve and sci-fi go together like peanut butter and chocolate. The story flows so well and is so interesting that I was surprised almost three hours had ed. It's also visually and audibly sumptuous, with so many fascinating creative flourishes that walk the line between alien and familiar. I loved the liquid fireworks, for example.
