Seen at BFI IMAX on 70mm film.
My God, what did I just experience. This firmly places Denis Villeneuve’s Dune franchise up there with Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy. I hope he gets to finish this off with Dune Messiah. I was gripped the entire time; the stunning visuals, breathtaking soundtrack by Hans Zimmer yet again. Javier Bardem brought so much joy and laughter to the screen. I believed Austin Butler was playing the Baron’s nephew so much that I thought he was a Skarsgård, most likely Bill. The moment Paul Atreides becomes the leader he supposed to be, Timothée Chalamet does a stand up job and basically becomes someone else. When he stands up in front of all the Fremen, that gave me chills.
