Greg Rath-Pribyl’s review published on Letterboxd:
I'll be honest, I didn't have much interest in seeing this film at first. I enjoyed Part One, but I wasn't as in love with it as much as a lot of other people were. That was mainly because I never read the original book and the first part to me felt like episode 1 of a sci-fi tv show that was given a bigger budget and extended to two and a half hours. I decided to watch Part Two to see how it completes the story.
My god am I glad I saw it because It makes me want to rewatch the first film and see these two back-to-back!
This is what we go to the movies for! Dune Part Two is a true spectacle both in of technique and storytelling.
The scope and scale are breathtaking. Probably my favorite scene in the movie is when Paul has to ride a giant sandworm and you get to experience it the same way he is. You feel exactly what he feels in that moment. That scene is just one of the many times this movie reminds you just how amazing cinema is!
We are living in a pretty exciting time for movies right now. Some of the most amazing film spectacles have been made in the last two years alone! I'm really hyped for what’s to come because we will likely be getting even more movies like this.
Highly recommend this one but make sure you see it on the largest screen you can find! Seeing this on the big screen is half the experience!
