Dune: Part Two

For the past four years, Cinema has had difficulty of giving experiences that prove why it is the greatest art form created by man. Sure, we’ve had some phenomenal films such as Spider-Man: No Way Home, Top Gun: Maverick and Oppenheimer but for every great film there seems to be about ten that is created by a board and not a filmmaker, making the experience bland and soulless. And we as a culture have felt it too many times to count.

Dune: Part Two is a turning point. A film that is not only a milestone for Cinema but one that will have a legacy akin to Empire Strikes Back, The Dark Knight and The Two Towers. With a runtime of almost three hours, no moment feels unnecessary or rushed. It could’ve been fours hours long and I still would be just as immersed. But the real star of the show is director Denis Villeneuve. He adapted a story that was considered unadaptable. Not only did he achieve that goal but he created his magnum opus, the crown jewel of his already stellar filmography.

I could go one about every aspect of this film for hours but just go out and experience it for yourself. We need to films like this so that the studios realize that audiences crave Cinema’s magic and the best it offers.
