MCU movies used to be all about exploring characters through the lens of different genres. They don't do it as often anymore, or at least not to this effect.

The A24 comparison marketing tactic wasnt actually that laughable when you realize they meant theyre doing a semi high concept mystery with a small scale conflict rooted in emotional stakes.
