Cannot stop thinking about these two movies. And I want it that way. Let them live in my mind rent free forever, there’s nothing more cinematic, thought-provoking and impactful.
Also despite the book being written by a man, these two movies had some of the best write female characters I’ve seen. In sci-fi and fantasy, it is rare to find this and when you do it often comes with a range of stereotypes regarding the side characters etc, basically, there are always flaws. This in my opinion was flawless. Every female character was done justice. The equal complexity of male and female characters (as well as poc) felt like an ode to humanity and made the film a million times better. Finally a sci-fi film done right, see how beneficial representing people properly is?
