No one told me these movies were so GOOFY (complimentary). Such great physical comedy in addition to scaling buildings with sci-fi spider gloves etc. when he tore off the Russian disguise to reveal the Bruce Springsteen T-shirt! That’s what the 🫡 emoji is FOR.

So moving and intense and strange and gorgeous. I love ‘70s feel-bad endings! Making Ann audition to play herself… sociopath shit. Hard to argue with the results. 

Also the DVD has this great conversation between Ann Reinking and Erzsebet Foldi. Loved this bit from Ann: “If somebody is really serious about whatever it is that they’re doing, it will become specific. But NOT uptight. There’s a difference.” 

PSA: Had this on my list forever and couldn’t find it anywhere and then I found it at the PUBLIC LIBRARY. To quote another iconic musical number: Having fun isn't hard when you've got a library card!

this was my first film forum experience and it was GREAT. strongly recommend and not just because christopher nolan was in my theater (although that was a v fun twist).
