One of Julia Roberts' best performances! Just a real great movie, oozing with Soderbergh's charm and style, but not so overwhelmed by it that the story or characters play second fiddle.

High Flying Bird has an absolutely impeccable script, striking cinematography, and some really great, dialed-in performances—especially from André Holland, Jeryl Prescott, Sonja Sohn, and the incomparable Bill Duke. I cannot express how much I love Bill Duke in everything, but especially in these post-retirement Soderbergh pieces. Zazie Beetz, Melvin Gregg, and Kyle MacLachlan have a little less to work with, but are still delivering the goods. Just a real solid film all around - no excess fat, looks and sounds wonderful, and edited in that particularly satisfying way that Soderbergh has mastered.
