This one is probably just a little bit better than the first one for the last hour because yeah this is definitely a 2 and a half hour long movie. Firstly Timothee Chalamet is a really great actor he is very convincing in this role and just did a very great job. Then there is of course Austin Butler who was giving a much better performance in this than he did in Elvis, From the moment I heard his voice I was thinking yep he is doing something terrifying and it definitely worked. Everyone else in the movie also does a really great job but there are other things about the movie I need to get to so basically everyone else was really good too.
My main problem with this movie is that it takes a little bit to really get into the good stuff and by a little bit I mean like maybe a little over an hour into the movie. And I know they were setting everything up but some scenes felt like they were going on for a little to long, but Denis Villeneuve‘s style of directing helps tons speaking of his directing wow it’s really great. I love the way everything looks it feels like every shot was well thought out, and of course the visuals are still just as great as the first movie Best Visual Effects Win is in the bag, but seriously other studios like Marvel especially take notes you don’t need a 300 million dollar budget for everything Dune looks great with 190 million there is no excuse for that.
Yep the score still slaps fits every scene perfectly also that final fight between little Timmy and Elvis was very well shot and choreographed great finale. I do think the first movie’s story flowed better but that’s just me and while I honestly might prefer the first movie the more I think about it this one has such a solid last hour and a half that for now I will say this one is better.
