Upon rewatch, Kyle Ren is kind of genius villain writing, at least in this movie. A dork-ass teenager idolizing a figure he doesn’t actually understand, repeating that figure’s actions beat for beat in the most tryhard manner possible, operating under the mindset of “it’ll totally work this time! We’re doing things bigger!”
There’s probably an essay about fascist radicalization pipelines in Kylo. Plus his pretty-ass face and the fact he has both parents and his parents have a real good marriage just emphasize how pathetic he is, I love it.
Can’t wait to see how episode 9 fucks him up
