Alright Ridley I get it you wanted to dive back into the world of Gladiator. However, I don't think this needed to be a full on sequel. You could have easily said this was inspired by gladiator and changed the characters and had an instantly better movie that doesn't have to compete with a masterpiece. (Could have called it anything else. Colosseum, Arena, Rome, insert name here lol.) That being said I really did enjoy gladiator 2. Acting was solid, Denzel absolutely kills it, Paul was good but I feel some of his emotional scenes felt really rushed and could have used some more focusing on. (Problem I had at several points) Pedro Pascal did great no complaints. Cg feels out of place because you are thinking of gladiator. But it's not bad, fights and visuals are stunning. If you look at this as a gladiator film it's underwhelming and does not work. If you separate it from that it's a really solid Roman colosseum film.
