FRED 3: Camp Fred

2012

★½ Rewatched

While I still like and will defend the first two films, Fred 3: Camp Fred is the worst of the trilogy. Almost all of the good aspects of the franchise are gone, becoming a generic, by-the-numbers children’s film. There are a couple scenes that capture the heart of the last two, but overall this is about as bad as people pretend the Fred films are. Every stereotypical camp joke from every camp film or TV episode is present, Fred’s fantasy…

As a kid, Fred 2: Night of the Living Fred was my favorite of the trilogy. It’s definitely the most “movie” movie out of all of them, having a structured plot and, like, rising actions and a climax and shit. I'm not really sure how to rate Battle for Mewni since it's not really a movie, it's clearly just the first 8 episodes of the new season played back to back, so it isn't any more theatrical than Star has gotten before, but at the same time, the arc the film goes through does a good job of standing on its own. I don't know if this series can be counted as a "kids show" after this, because death, depression,…

Avengers: Endgame

Avengers: Endgame is the perfect end to the MCU. I know it’s not the end, and I look forward to the movies, but this is definitely the devide. From now on, Marvel will fall into to categories; Before Endgame, and after Endgame. And as that roadblock, that conclusion to the first decade worth of movies, I don’t think I could ask for much more.
