A nice dose of Australian grimness. It goes on for longer than necessary tbh but Caleb's performance is truly great.

The set of circumstances that led to this are truly unbelievable.

I love the seamless blending of dreamy, comedic, scary and tender scenes. I love how easily a simple camera movement can bring back a threatening atmosphere at unexpected times. This is my first Lynch since his ing and, of course, I'm left with a certain melancholy and an urge to celebrate rather than dwell on any flaws or whatever so idk if I should be trying to review anything at all. This is just an excellent display of what makes his work so unique and certainly an intense experience.

I'm disappointed... but, first of all, coolest looking protagonist. Eyepatch matching her outfits. Yes. On the other hand, I thought the pornographic scenes, which I didn't expect at all, were a precursor to some extreme violence when the time came for Frigga to take revenge. I mean, that's what I came for. But it didn't deliver at all for me, in retrospect it just feels really gross how much time they spent showing her suffering and abuse to then only…
