Happy gay month everyone!!! Decided to watch the muppets as nothing is gayer than the muppets!
I had this marked as watched but man I don think I ever watched this before. It's the muppets so I love it so much tho!!!! I love the 2011 movie but I think I may just like this a slight bit more but I think they have slight different vibes. 2011 Muppets is more of a fun time and a constant sing along while 1979 Muppets is a cozy, heart warming lil blanket. It has the same comfort energy as Cars and Little Women and who knows it could become as constantly watched as those movies!
The Big Bird cameo was my No Way Home moment!!!
]]>I GOT SCAMMED!!!
When choosing my gender I did not know there was a mermaid option!!! 🫲😩🫱 I wanna be a mermaid! See because aRiel is a MtF (Mermaid to Female) so therefore that means there was a mermaid option I never knew about!!! >:( What else are they tryna hide from us?! I want answers!!!!

]]>We can all collectively agree that it's a bad sequel to Cars, I mean the tonal whiplash you get when watching the spy thriller in between the 2 character focused coming of age racing films is crazy but separating this a stand alone film I dunno. I've been confused rating Cars 2 for a while as it is terrible at being a sequel to the first but even tho it can be a bit messy at certain points (E.G. Spies having to be braindead so Mater can be a spy), I still think like a lot of Pixar movies it does have very strong and powerful themes baked in like other cars learning to take Mater seriously and scummy practice of big company men. I also think the ways they handled how the Cars can do all these spy stuff is hella creative and clever, and as a lover of animation this looks like a blast to animate! Yeah, I don't think I can actually rate this lower than a 6/10 rn without feeling I am lying to myself to fit in which ironically goes against the themes of the film lmao!

]]>WEEZER WEEZER WEEZER
This franchise is basically what Cars is to pixar... easy merchandise sales!!! Unlike Cars it don seem to be stopping any time soon so lets hope the songs in the next 2 (that's right, we're apparently getting 2 more!!!) slap!!! Although outside of like 2 maybe 3 songs none of them slap, even 2 of those 3 can't even compare to the charm of the first! Oh well... kinda miss like 2000s and 2010s disney where 3D was new to them so we had some completely random movies and not a frozen every 5 years!!! God the more I write the more I hate this franchise!
Btw this movie has a weird obsession with pointing out the shitty twist villain from the first movie. Girl move on :/

]]>Back to the British version of Cars and not some weird mix between American and German versions. (It was literally the different voice for Harv that annoyed me 😭🙏)
]]>Continuing from last review, there was no weird differences with the German version of Cars 3. Not even Jeff Corrette changed in his cameo which was a bit disappointing. Oh well
]]>Continuing from last review, I rate the German Jeff Corvette tho!!! I just don't get why the lip sync is still english tho. And English Jeff Corvett randomly appears in the Radiator Springs race that took me by surprise!
Cars 2 is literally impossible for me to rate because it's so bad yet soooo good so I will give 2 different ratings:
Ashley's critic meter: ⭐️⭐️
Ashley's autism meter: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
And yes that does mean the first Cars is perfect in both regards and I will defend that till the day I die!!!
]]>I'm on Holiday but I needed my tism time so I put on Cars but Disney + didn't have my pure authentic UK version of Cars so the little differences felt so weird!
I actually hate American Harv. Jeremy Clarkson fits so well at the role but American Harv is way too cheerful for me to buy that he's McQueen's scummy manager, also who even was that guy anyway.
The visuals though was the German version of Cars which brang some differences like 3D effects in the credit wheel thing which freaked me out a lil cause I didn't expect it. Mario Andretti also had a different paint job for some reason.
Overall, that made the experience very weird for me but luckily the Radiator Springs parts (the majority of the film) were normal so it didn't distract too much from how much I love this movie.
(5 star is for the British version, this version gets a 4 star tho cause I hate American Harv that much)

Things I thought while watching UP:
"So glad it kept it's horror elements in the intro unlike La La Land"
"Nah but seriously how do you manage to show an entire lifetime with all it's ups and downs so perfectly in under 5 minutes, managing to make you care so much about the characters within those 5 minutes, having possibly one of the most heartbreaking deaths for a character you've only known for like 10 minutes at this point?"
"You're in a best composer competition and your competition is Micheal Giacchino"
"I noticed that Carl's right angles (cause his head is square) are kinda rounded when he's with Elle and he's at his most happiest and then when he's a grumpy old man, they become more pointed as he lost Elle (who's head is circle). Given the attention to detail in the film I think this was intentional visual representation of how ridged his world is without Elle but to be fair it could easily be just signs of him aging aswell."
"Everything up to the balloons scenes feels so bloody real, grounded and honestly depressing. It's actually so bold of pixar to open the movie like this, one that has a target audience of kids. We are opening with how a man is dealing with grief while he's dealing with big company people trying to take away his house, the last thing that's keeping him close to the woman of his life, the wife that he's grieving! 2000s Pixar was something special! Wall-E, UP, Ratatoullie, Incredibles, Cars, etc were able to communicate such deep and complex themes without directly telling it's audience the themes and still managed to make them charming enough for kids. I loving these movies as a kid but now that I'm much older these hold up so well due to how deep they actually are in a way I never realised when I was younger!"
"All the grounded stuff do nothing but help the scene where the balloons come out the house that extra bit more magical, it's like the first spark of joy Carl has seen in ages"
"I'm sorry but how the hell did Russel just spawn on his porch? -0.5 star for that one!"
"There's a bit where Russel says "sometimes it's the boring stuff that I the most" so real! Both in real life and in the movies! When I think of UP, the last act with the dogs flying the planes is probably the last thing that comes to mind, it's all the stuff with Carl's relationships with Elle, Russel, Doug and Kevin that I will always think of which yeah isn't nearly as exciting on paper but in practice means a whole lot more to me. It drives me insane when people say that these are just kids movies when it comes to animation because animation can be a really powerful medium with a lot of flexibility which is why I hate and care so much when so many companies waste that for easy cash grabbing nonsense for 90 minutes that have no rhyme or reason to exist like Dog Man and the Minion movies! Animation deserves respect and kids deserve to have entertainment but also a film that can provide them with strong lessons and themes which can help them grow and develop."
"The scene where Carl finally makes it to paradise falls is so perfect! Pixar is so good at making characters with clear goals but making it feel so disappointing when they finally reach that goal, I the attention to detail with how dull the house looks when he goes inside and how much vibrant it starts to get when he reads the adventure book and realises Elle already had an amazing life! Absolute perfection!"
"That last shot with the house on Paradise Falls!!! AAAAH!!! Perfection!"
- freaking back to glazing 2000s pixar!!! We need something like this again!!! So sad Disney likes fucking over the company though :(
]]>"The only thing I will STU-DY is them"
Yo I think the antagonist was just a closeted lesbian. Anyways imagine having Ted from Breaking Bad doing a goofy R accent instead of the goat Jennifer Coolidge!
]]>Yo I actually listened to what Mater was singing in the after credit scene and he sings "I just got a date with an Ice Cream Truck"!!! This implies that him and Holley Shiftwell must've broken up in the time between Cars 2 and 3 which is just heartbreaking! But could this Ice Cream Truck be Doreen?
]]>It does that thing that Scott Pilgrim VS The World does where it tries to cram the entire book series into one movie! Scott Pilgrim could get away with it somewhat as the exes share a goal against Scott which helps the plot not go completely all over the place but with a comic book series like Dog Man where the antagonists and storylines are completely different between books, trying to compile all that into one movie, leaves the film to be completely unfocused.
It's such a shame when Captain Underpants was so good and to hear rumours about a Dog Man movie, the books I was more interested in at the time and too this day the only books I've read and to find out 8 years later that that movie you were waiting for is a unfocused mess that does not do nearly enough justice to the book series. Honestly such a shame and dare I say most disappointed I've ever been with a movie! Well now I can finally say "the books were better"
]]>I still don't understand the play 🫲😫🫱

]]>I freaking loved this movie!!!! ❤️
]]>The sea creature animation carried tbh
]]>AAAAAAAAAAHHHH it's sooo freaking perfect!!!
I love how it just pulls you straight into Gotham! Gotham doesn't start with this movie, it is an already established city with Penguin, Joker, The Batman and (soon to be) Cat Woman already running about!!! Alot of comic book movies *cough cough* Iron Man *cough cough* Spider-Man *cough cough* are so weird as it feels like problems are only starting because the cameras started rolling and The Batman does not have that problem at all which I love! Especially as a fan of Gotham!!!
I think Lego Batman movie (which btw both this and Lego Batman are basically tied at this point, can't choose a favourite both perfect) is one I love as it explores Batman's trauma part of his character but The Batman aims to explore what The Batman represents which is what I love too. Bruce Wayne from the outside represents privilege while Batman aims to be a representative for the little guy which is also what makes Riddler such an amazing parallel! The Riddler shows the flaws in Batman's way of presenting and the negative impact and influence he can have on society which motivates me to change! Just watch the darn movie it blows me away every time!
