Framesofnick’s review published on Letterboxd:
That’s it. That’s the best sci fi ever made
There is simply nothing that could ever be as spectacular, as grand, as well thought out, as beautiful, as fucking AMAZING
This is a movie that exists only once in a generation. A story that grabs you and pulls you in. Enticing you to follow the journey until you’re ripped to shreds from exhaustion
There is a scale here that could only be accomplished today in this time of our species. This is a demonstration on what we can accomplish as story tellers
It is all laid out with so much confidence and stunning artistry that you feel jealous that you yourself will never come close to creating something as unequivocally perfect
Without a second thought only built on instinct Timothee chalamet commands his growth into Paul Atreides. He owns that role as if it was written for him by Herbert in 1965
The music crescendos you across the universe to experience feelings you couldn’t dare have before witnessing the images they were made for
The visceral combat combined with the absolute ear drum bursting audio will leave you with a gaping wound. You will feel as if you have been struck and left to bleed out
It’s so deeply personal while connecting a multitude of planet standing paths. Characters that you must learn the lives of that can only be translated by a filmmaker this talented
Everything here is perfect and I can’t even fathom something topping this artistically on this level
(Except maybe Dune Messiah)
