Fist fights, a bull whipping dope peddler, sexy dances, sharks, exploding huts - this movie SOUNDS great!

Really thought this was gonna be a brain dead no budge slasher with Australian accents, it’s closer to Canadian movies like Pin or Parents where it’s low gear weird and tries to seem American. The acting in it is better than expected, too, Michael Murphy (from Altman movies!) and Louise Fletcher are effortlessly good. Scenes where people are just quietly talking and grappling with strangeness are probably boring to a lot of people but I thought they made the horror parts seem more intense. Another Australian movie where a scary institution is behind all the horror!

This movie is like doing dangerous drugs in a place you’ve never been to with people you don’t trust, but they have great taste in music.

Made for people born between the years 1977 and 1983 but somehow also 14 years old.
