Pretty interesting and fairly watchable serial killer character study. Everyone in the reviews calls this out as a Psycho riff but it’s just as much if not more indebted to the stories of a bunch of real life psychotic scumbags like Ed Gein, Ted Bundy, and even H.H. Holmes. Definitely a decent watch for sickos.
If this had an even somewhat capable actor in the lead roll it’d get a full extra star.
Beyond Fest - Aero Theatre
This really should have been a theatrical release, it kills with a crowd and that experience really elevates the film. The movie doesn’t always work, but when it does it’s a lot of fun. Lots of great shots and visual ideas throughout. A very earnest, classic vampire tale that won’t be for everyone but I’m all in. Mark Petrie is one of the year’s best characters.
