The Man Who Knew Too Much

A solid romp. Lot of classic Hitchcock suspense staples just with a lot of extra music. Mint ending scene. Hope they move to New York!

Seven Samurai

Stiff at times, beautiful at others. Technically skillful. Hard to connect with keep track of some of the characters near the end.

The scene in the cafe, it lingers. It was beautiful, depressing, and an example of how film can be used in clever ways to deepen very human emotions. Superb acting by Joachim Trier and great writing of dialogues throughout.

Capturing cruelty and some of darkest evil of humanity and the resistance of a community that persists year after year. The sun is rising today in Masafer Yatta and the struggle continues.

I’m reminded of Viktor Frankl’s Man Search from meaning as he details his time at Auschwitz.

Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.
