Rewatching this for the nth time took me back to 00’s internet with its speculation-filled LOST forums (is it connected to the Dharma Initiative?), ARGs (yes!! It sort of is!!) teaser/poster analysis (you can see his face in the clouds!!) and Clovie lore (he’s just a little baby!!) which had me more hyped than I’ve ever been for this film to come out and pore over for years afterwards.

Then LOST concluded and the Cloverfield franchise went down the toilet (after 10 Cloverfield Lane) and honestly everything’s been terrible ever since.

This film is absolute perfection. Bury me with it under a collapsed bridge.

Watching in 2006: haha imagine if in 20 years Britain became really openly racist, a deadly flu pandemic came and went, pollution made the air grey, everyone was poor and miserable, and the London 2012 olympics logo sucked? Lol
