This is the blockbuster of 2024. I don’t need to see any other film for the rest of the year.
This film was mesmerizing all the way through. It captured me right from the beginning and kept me strapped in until the end.
Everyone was on their A game and it sits with the likes of Star Wars, if not better. Villeneuve is becoming solidified more and more as a director with his cinematic style, in the world of Akkaris. Even when the film feels like it’ll start to drag, it’ll pick back up again. If he could give us Messiah in the next couple of years I would be forever grateful.
Now, onto the cast. Everybody showed up and showed out. There are so many performances that were great, but without saying Chalamet, Butler, Ferguson & Zendaya stood out to me. Chalamet keeps showing more and more why he’s a leading man and action star. He can hold a camera and keeps you focusing on him every time. Zendaya grows as an actor and definitely showing she is truly here to stay. Even in subtlety, she can hold the moment with just a look alone. Ferguson doesn’t have to say much with words but her expressions tells all. Now, getting to BUTLER, I’m sorry yall but he took it for me. He should’ve been in it a lot longer than he was. He was deliciously sinister as Feyd-Rathua. He was menacing and scary. I needed more of him.
I can’t wait to see what numbers this film does cause it’s definitely one of the ages. If you got into the first one, you’ll be in for a loud, happy ride.
