serious review absent bc i’m coming off an allergic reaction to shrimp. and i feel bad.

how do you make a movie like this boring. this is just a ripoff of the mummy/indiana jones and it’s not good. terrible dialogue and some of the worst cgi i’ve seen in a film this decade

points for being sort of entertaining, but not worth your time

so people actually are not kidding when they say this is a generational triumph. layers on layers of subtext and commentary, gorgeous score, incredible acting and costumes and sets and lighting. so much love and history poured into this. sweat and sex and blood and tears splattered across the screen, and a story that uncoils slow like a rattlesnake before it strikes. and it’s a damn fine vampire flick too. GO WATCH IT!!!!

i actually think it’s bad to tell a story about a trans woman Being Deceiving. especially at this current time. i also think it’s bad to make this movie as a cis frenchman without doing any research on mexico or trans women. i’m so tired!!!!

also 95% of the music in this “musical” sounded the same and was like half songs that cut off abruptly or were full of shitty whisper singing or both. it was ass!
