You might say that like basketball, love is a game. Or you might not say that I don’t know. This movie had some top notch kissing and boy can you tell when intimacy is directed by a woman because it is so well done. The soundtrack was also a dream.

This movie really points out how uncommon true unfiltered optimism is. Genuine optimism is seen as weird and different.
Also I had a driving instructor who just talked about conspiracy theories constantly so is that a common thing?
This is an absolute masterpiece. Mike Leigh just has such an innate understanding of how to use his actors and let them really show their chops. I’ve been learning a lot about the criminal justice system lately and this movie showcases its central problem. Believing the solution to preventing crime is to strengthen the enforcement of the law and increase the punishment so as to dissuade more people from commiting the crime INSTEAD OF actually examining the root of WHY…
Is there such a thing as a lie that is worth telling to spare someone’s feelings? Like is it okay for us to lie to the people we love? Is that worth it? Or should we just be honest and deal with whatever pain there is?
