After 11 times watched and the whole of his filmography completed, I think I've just finally gotten a grasp on Sono's overly-dramatised approach in Love Exposure. Just like in Himizu, it took me multiple watches for me to realise what he was fully going for beyond the straightforward meaning - read KJR's review for Himizu - it opened my mind to new levels. Makes me realise how much more of a genius Sion Sono is than I initially thought.
