Had to give this a rewatch after season 2 of Andor. Yes it ends on hope, but it also ends in pain. Fight the Empire! Down with fascism.
]]>The drug scene hit me like a truck. Hooked from that moment til the end. Honestly wasn't sure exactly what this would be, but I had a great time.
]]>Will looking kinda fine I ain't gonna lie
]]>Zombies never grab my attention too much, but it's pretty good
]]>Rocky just a nice guy except for when he is kinda creepy
]]>Put her down
]]>Didn't care for some of the editing choices, mainly in the audio department. Besides that though I had a great time with the story, characters, and the action. Didn't play too heavily in the nostalgia, although it is present in some scenes. Overall, pretty fun and better than at least one or two other movies in this series.
]]>The message of the movie is a that anyone can be a looney tune
]]>Why was it like that
]]>This review may contain spoilers.
Locked in the second it started, but within maybe ten minutes I had a sinking feeling I wasn't going to vibe with this. The pacing and editing was hectic and it almost felt like it didn't trust the audience to past events and characters. After the opening though, we slowed down and I began to settle in. But the slow burn was quite slow. Fallout and Dead Reckoning are long, but somehow manage to flow way better while keeping the interest and tension even in scenes that are maybe a little slower to play out. It felt like we took awhile to get to the action, and I don't want to be that guy that complains about talking and slow scenes in a movie, but at the eighth in the series I have a feel for them.
Also felt like we added a ton of to the team, but didn't have the time to really welcome them in. I liked all them and was thrilled for the additions, but the team was too different to fully invest in with limited time (which feels crazy to say for a damn near 3 hour movie). Grace felt off to me, loved her in the last movie expected a bigger presence than we got here. Except for the end, all her moments felt like they should have been Ilsa's? Obviously she's dead, but the way Grace was written in this one just felt odd to me.
Minimal gadgets. Maybe I'm trippin?
Okay that's a lot of negative and complaining for four stars. Well first the submarine bit, absolutely astounding. The underwater bit of rouge Nation is one of my least favorite set pieces so I wasn't expecting to like the submarine section as much as I did. It might have been my favorite part of the movie.
Secondly, once the film hits South Africa, holy shit. That end bit did it for me in a way I'm having trouble putting into words. It truly elevated how I feel about this movie. It made me tear up. It wasn't even about Benji and Ethan maybe dying or Luthors message. I think it was partly the realization that this is it. I don't think I truly understood how much these movies meant to me until then. I just saw the end of the greatest action series in history. Say what you will about Tom Cruise the person, but Tom Cruise the actor gives it everything he has more for these movies. I'm going to miss that. I'm going to miss Ethan Hunt. I don't want it to end. It has to, but I'm going to be sad about it.
I have a lot of thoughts and not a lot of patience to sort them so this review may become longer and worse than it already is.
]]>80s villains need to chill. Just unnecessarily evil and cheesy
]]>Horrors deadliest villain is back, the wind
]]>PEAK SLOP
]]>I just think Domino is neat
]]>Goofy, not as fun as the first
]]>Completely fell asleep at some point, but watching the first hour(?) reminded me how much I enjoy this movie.
]]>I just think Ghost is really neat
]]>I've read some thor comics recently and yea I get why some people got beef with this movie. Doesn't stop it from being super fun though.
]]>He probably smells like an old man
]]>Perfect amount of 80s schlock
]]>Solid. I like this cast of characters. If Marvel wants to remain on top, they need to start consistently hitting at this level and above. I will not stand sitting through a Captain America: New World Order every other movie.
]]>Is Rita okay? Does she need help?
]]>That was not made for me
]]>I quite liked the dance scene
]]>This review may contain spoilers.
For what it is, it's fine, and that's what my rating is for. The problem is what it isn't. It isn't Until Dawn. It's mostly nods here and there, Josh's mask, wendigos (which are severely worse here), Peter Stormare, the mines, etc etc. The concept is not even the same, time loop based on a game with no retries. A character dies, that's that. Whatever, it's fine.
That's what I thought until the very end. Fuck you what was that, what are we doing here. Is that just a cute nod to the game or are they setting up a sequel? If they're setting up a sequel, why? Is this the same goddamn shit as the Uncharted movie? Just make the game, why are we doing stories set immediately before the games instead of just doing the games? Sony you incompetent dipshits. Why do you adapt your games into movies like this? Just do the game. I get that you have to cut a lot of the fat, but at least try. If you're gonna adapt a game that's what people want to see, is the story from the game. Ah whatever.
Edit: Actually I thought about it more and it makes me mad. If these are set in the same universe, then why the goddamn fuck are we using the same shit from the game. Why would Josh's mask be here, the wendigos, all this shit if it's pulled from Clover's psyche. And then what does that imply for the game story, is that a similar situation, because no the fuck it ain't. Ah whatever
]]>Horror movies are so damn good when they flesh out and establish characters. Shit had me on the edge of my seat because I cared about the characters. Also music was fire.
]]>Still like naked gun more but tis funny
]]>I'm not eating grapes with a stranger at the grocery store, you never had me
]]>Ending house stuff was cool, maybe not the best looking or executed very well though. The wax thing wasn't really for me. Wax.
]]>This may have been the first Full Moon movie I genuinely liked. It was actually fun
]]>I could be that little Chinese boy
]]>Connected with this more on a rewatch, especially through the lens of the power that a TV show has over you. Escapism in high school, wishing desperately to be forever a part of my favorite shows. Not because they were free of danger or drama, but they provided purpose. They had excitement and clearly defined traits, but even through problems large and small they returned to a safe space. Scary things could happen, but nothing was scary. They were perfectly sculpted worlds, something we don't live in. Escapism can be a detriment though, if you never face yourself and the world, eventually you'll break.
]]>Suffering never ends if you give in
]]>The jump leading directly to the bathroom fight, one of the best sequences ever filmed.
]]>I liked the first story the most, and while the second one was fun it didn't do much for me and the third had Mark Hamill which is cool but wasn't my favorite

]]>That yellow dress, that damn yellow dress
]]>Yo he's back in the hood
]]>The directors cut was worth the price, so many incredible changes! Love this movie
]]>Love the effects and the kills! All of that looked good and made me go hehe real fun stuff. The characters and the story did not interest me at all I'ma be fr
]]>I'm not one to the military, but suddenly I'm inclined to the army.
]]>When is somebody gonna teach me Chinese magic, I would like to practice
]]>I not pay much attention but good movie hehehehe
]]>This is not for everyone
]]>Kills are still great, but just about everything else is worse. Mostly a fun time though
]]>I liked when he shooty shooty and they blowed up but not the other parts
]]>I am decently surprised at how fun this was. Crowley looked crazy and was clearly cheesin the whole time.
]]>Man is the ultimate Mommy's boy
]]>I'm thinking that one lady needed to be arrested as well
]]>1) Must be watched by me (easier to sort for me)
2) Must be seen by majority of group (4+)
3) Tie breakers determined by an evil wizard
Not enough movies to fill out the list so there are some stinkers. Gotta get these people to watch more smh.
