A24 coded, can't believe this is a Lionsgate movie, doesn't feel like it at all
But yeah this was right up my alley, the ethereal score, the colors, the rotating camera(even tho I usually think it's too much it really added to this movie)

I have been hearing that The Weeknd can't act. I have to say after seeing him in Uncut Gems, bits and pieces of The Idol on youtube, dude really stepped his game up on this one. I thought he was holding his own.....And Jenna always does her thing of course. After she cracked him in the head then this shit turned into Silent Hill I was fully on board. I fuckin love weird shit like this. Didn't even know was a companion piece to his album of the same name, I'm not really familiar with his music so this was a cool discovery. I'll always an artist being an artist and this was dope. I get sick of the same old same old, not gonna be for everybody but what is.

On a sidenote: I can't wait until I'm rich enough to build a theater in my house and get movies shipped to me so I never have to watch another movie with strangers again. Theater Culture has always been bad but it's abysmal now.....There were 7 of us in the theater, u would think that would be chill, a dream even, nope!! The couple in front of me had a guy that would record the movie on his phone in 20 minute increments lol I shit chu not. U think is this fuckin idiot gonna this to some site or something online, nope he puts away his phone for a little while then takes it back out and does it for another 15-20 minutes🤦🤦🤦, even recorded the credits, tf is this??

Then there's four teenagers sitting up front whispering throughout the WHOLE movie, stfu yall.....How hard is it for people to just be cool for a hr and 40 mins?? I wanted to whoop everybody ass honestly, even the chick with the guy because like why are u enabling this?

U know how some people complain about a movie being too dark visually? This movie almost felt too sterile lol. Like this movie was incredibly bright and I'm wondering if Hannah was saying the world around them is clean it's their relationship that's dirty or if this movie was just bright. I guess we'll never know

I could also see somebody thinking that her movies end too abruptly but I think the subject matter she chooses to write about u know it's not gonna end well, how much more movie do u need ya know? She shows u just enough to know it ended, there isn't much more u need to know. I think it all has it's place, movies that end with a nice bow and movies that don't. I appreciate her approach because sometimes life is messy. So far all of her movies have been based in reality so it fits imo.....I will say tho 6 years and their relationship is just now becoming this toxic? That might be the only part that's bumping me a little bit. 6 years together, they're getting older which would make u think things would be easier, communication wise, partnership wise idk. But people do stay together for 20, 30, 40 years then get divorced so yeah this could be accurate as fuck....Actually yeah this works lol. Back to what I was saying, life is messy

I enjoyed the Family Bloodline shit and the references to other Final Destination moments(i.e Kimberly's named being mentioned, the log truck rolling by and many more)but for whatever reason it just wasn't connecting with me, like I wasn't having fun idk why....But I will say them killing everybody at the end was unexpected and got a jolt out of me, good stuff

Day of the week title cards on a Spy movie was interesting, never seen that before, I liked it. I enjoyed just seeing that they went to the movies on Tuesday. Speaking of, that was a cool plot point. The whole movie ticket thing I mean, I liked that he wanted to take her to get her reaction. Then the whole thing comes back full circle at the end....Hmmm, the end, I felt the reveal was a little weak but the way that whole scene culminated was nice

This was trippy and psychedelic like I wanted but honestly I wish it would've leaned into it even more. Something about it still felt subdued, I can't quite put my finger on it....But man some stunning shots in this thing. There's a scene where The Surfer buys a pizza from a guy and sits it on top of his car, the lighting and backdrop of that whole scene was breathtaking

I think this movie started to lose me once he ed the surfers, I don't think that should've ever happened. All the shit they put him through I just couldn't see it. But nevertheless I had fun. And a somewhat subdued Cage, I appreciated it

Had no clue this was by the same person that did the tv show that came out a couple years ago. Seen the title, read the description and was like this seems very similar to the other shit I seen a couple years ago. Did a little digging and was like oh shit, Hannah Fidell, this was her first debut. Very cool that she got to do this then adapt it into a show later on. I love when people are able to follow/flesh out their vision, very inspirational.....The show btw, a very very criminally underrated performance by Kate Mara(honorable mention to Nick Robinson). But yeah people always mention Rooney and never talk about Kate, I think she's a beast!!

Anyways on to the movie, what a perfect way to start it. That song tells u everything u need to know about this movie, it's about to be nerve-wracking, and it was exactly that, nerve-wracking. Speaking of the score just a good use of it in general, fit the tone of the scene perfectly everytime 👌👌. And the way this was shot, it's evident that Hannah is great at creating tension. Whereas the show played out much more like a drama romance this shit felt like a horror movie lol and I dug it.

I still prefer the show overall but this was really good. After this and the show there's no question that Hannah is talented. I will forsure be checking out her other stuff

Man, I really love that people are having a blast with this, that makes me happy. Been following these guys' careers since the beginning, glad it all panned out

Huge huge s/o to Buddy Guy who played the older Sammie at the end, he's a big Chicago Legend and when I seen him I almost leaped outta my seat. That was cool

My favorite scene would be when Smoke is sitting trying to roll that cigarette and we just get a flashback of all of the people that we lost, that scene really hit me and legit made me feel sad for losing them. That stuff doesn't usually work on me but for some reason it was particularly poignant in this film...Just a testament to how well the characters work in this film the more and more I think about it

I was recently listening to a podcast about the movie Drop and they were saying how the director of that movie was trying to do "De Palma". They said that phrase about a million times. So crazy I would unknowingly pick a "De Palma" film to watch this weekend

Anyways, that tracking shot in the beginning was giving me chills. If this whole movie would've been that it would've easily been one of the best movies I've ever seen. This movie was good and fun but that first 14 minutes was otherworldly

Cool seeing Stan Shaw in this. I only know him as Larry from the movie Houseguest with Sinbad lol, but I'm glad he got to flex his acting muscles in this

When this movie hits it really hits, Clayne Crawford is an amazing actor. All of the moments where he's playing being in shock are really believable and breathtaking but I felt like I had to "sit through" parts of the movie and for that I gotta dock it. But man I hope Machoian and Crawford keep working together, I like what they cook up.

Trying not to run through this new season of Black Mirror is how we got here lol. I watched an episode and was like okay one per weekend that's your rule D stick to it. So afterwards I made a queue of short films I've been meaning to get to as well as a few sci-fi ones to satiate that Black Mirror craving. Anyways this was the first movie on my list and got damn did it deliver. When it was over I went, "damn that was intense". Well shot, well acted, and the ending credits music was perfect. I will forsure be checking out whatever else this guy has as well as the main actor Yijie Lin.....This was a winner

As somebody who's been suffering from a little bit of Jack Black fatigue recently I ironically was kind of bummed when the movie shifted from Steve in the beginning to the Garbage Man stuff lol. I loved how quick we got to the Overworld(3 minutes tops)and I just thought the other stuff kind of derailed it but I get why they had to do it....But yeah JB ruled in this and the Chicken Shack song was awesome. I mean u hire JB to sing right?....Had a much better time with this than Super Mario Bros

Also, didn't know kids destroying the theater during these Minecraft viewings was a thing 😱. There were kids in my theater fake sneezing and throwing slushy juice all over the place, chips, u name it. When me and my Son got home he was like yeah Dad that's a thing then proceeded to show me vids on Tik Tok of kids absolutely trashing the theater during these viewings. I'm like wow man what are we doing, and where are the parents??

Last 1:40 or so cooked. I didn't understand anything that was happening previously but when all of that started to go down at the end and the way it was shot and the reveal all of it worked for me, brought me back. I wasn't gonna even log this but now that I am I gotta say I loved the chyron at the beginning. If you're a fan of old school slashers there's parts of this that will tickle your brain

- As soon as the Jazz music starts in the beginning u already know what's up lol. What was with late 80's early 90's movies infatuation with Jazz, was it supposed to be sexy or something? Like how did that even start

- Al Pacino has always had star power, the dude is just endlessly watchable

- Couldn't help but think the scene where John Goodman first started singing felt like a scene from Sopranos or something, I can't quite put my finger on it but I dug it

- Weird score but cool, most notably when he gets home and is falling asleep on the bed

- This movie was ahead of it's time with the slowing down of a song to make it creepier

- Goodman and Pacino made a great team

- I love Michael Rooker just as much as anybody but that reveal was a little underwhelming huh

"You're not a cop, you're a working man".....Once I knew this was co-written by Sly everything made sense lol...Me and my Family have been chasing the Wrath Of Man high forever. We knew Beekeeper wasn't gonna be that but since this had a more serious tone we're like okay we're in. This was more serious which lent itself to being more enjoyable but this was still pretty paint by numbers and man one too many bosses. Everytime somebody else died u find out there's somebody even more powerful above them. But still my Family enjoyed this and my Gma had a ball which is all that matters so here we are.

I know this was Tiffany's breakout role but honestly I got more mileage out of Latifah's character Sasha. Sasha was the most balanced character out of everyone and I really thought the Queen was doing good work in this movie. Here's the thing, I really don't think I was the demo for this movie and it showed, I wasn't really laughing but I had a good time with the Ladies.....But man can we retire the forced conflict portion of comedys, I really do hate that part and it usually makes me cringe everytime, I mean they're still doing it, I just watched The Gutter a few days ago and at one point they're not friends anymore and it's like no not this again.....But anyway congrats to everybody in this movie, I it being huge when it came out and that's what's up....Also great speech from Ryan at the end on the podium, powerful stuff #message

Had no clue where this was going, pleasantly surprised. I have really been on a roll with these movies where a person ends up taking somebody under their wing just for it all to go to shit....When the movie was first starting u have no clue why Syd would help out John but I bought it, u just believe he's a good guy, then when it's revealed that he killed his Father it's like oh yeah of course lol.....Great job of showing just how fucked the John and Clementine kidnapping situation was by how much Syd was cursing. He had been completely mild mannered up until then, I just thought that was some cool character development.

This had a low stakes Pulp Fiction/Casino vibe and I was here for it. Soothing but compelling

Shawty Lo-They Know was hard as hell as the intro

Shameik Moore did his thing in this role and D'Arcy was great as his wing man but damn did Paul Reiser crack me up. Don't know if this movie would've worked without him honestly.....But yeah I had a great time and Dream Theater music in a movie was not on my bingo card this year but damn if that didn't work, soo cool and soo fitting for the scene, great ending

I had no clue this was based off of a novel Mickey 7. I thought this was gonna be an original idea from Bong Ho. I do a really good job of avoiding trailers for movies I wanna see so I literally had no clue what the tone or vibe was gonna be for this thing, I just knew a mf was gonna keep dying lol....So to my surprise once I got settled into the movie and seen it was gonna be a actiony sci-fi thriller kind of thing I had to re-adjust my expectations. I wanted horror, this was not that. With that being said this was a good film. Cool world building, great dual acting from Pattinson, hilarious stuff from Ruffalo, Toni tapping into her Hereditary bag towards the end and another star performance from Naomi Ackie. All of this worked really well, I just wish it was more tense. I think my theater felt the same, I had somewhat of a packed theater and when it was over everybody just filed out quietly, not one word, I couldn't help but laugh to myself but I also thought that was pretty telling. But I'm glad people are feeling the movie and I always have to shout out Pattinson and Stewart. Glad their careers went the way it did

When the A24 logo dropped in the beginning I was like holy shit, an early A24 release, that was pretty cool

Alien's mic cutting in and out when they first introduce him was such a small specific detail that cracked me up and I really appreciated it as a person who has been at certain events/performances with shitty mics

The playing with time stuff was a cool approach. I haven't seen any other Harmony Korine film. I don't know if he always does that or not but it really worked for this

Neil Marshall's first movie, he did his thing with this I ain't even gone lie. He then went on to make The Descent which turned into the classic that it is but this was definitely a vibe. This was made in 2002 but felt like 1983 or some shit and it was soothing as hell. Even tho it's dealing with Werewolves this is another movie I'd file under the cozy horror genre, like I was too comfortable on my couch watchin this shit. Great dog acting too btw....It's cool because u could definitely see the DNA in there for The Descent, like these two movies are definitely made by the same guy lol. I dug it, good debut

As soon as this started I knew I was in good hands. The way it's shot, the cinematography, the acting, all of it top notch. I mean this is only 13 mins but gives u soo much in between those 13....When she did all of that worrying and her car keys were in her purse. I let out a big dammmmnnnnnn, that was so well done. Then u follow her home and see nobody was home she had just left the baby by herself. Then how the movie ends with her holding back tears on some Mia Goth Pearl shit, I'm like damn this actress Esther Smith is killin this!!! Super strong performance, I hope this gets her more roles

Okay Longlegs was my favorite horror movie last year. Hell Longlegs was one of my favorite movies to come out in recent years, I think about it often lol....Osgood will always have me as a fan because of it. The singular vision, the amount of dread I felt, that movie was firing on a high cylinder for me. This was not that. This felt normal, safe, gory but safe. I never want that from my Oz lol. Longlegs was too weird, we can't go back now. But anyways that's all I'll say about that

- There was this shot of the police sirens flashing on tree branches which just really stood out to me
- The way the monkey blood looked 👌👌

I think I was really expecting to be blown away by this so when I wasn't it slightly knocked me off my pivot just a smidge. Once I accepted that I was probably going to feel this way for the rest of the movie I was okay.....Of course great baby acting lol, I read that was Pattinson's goddaughter, cool stuff, they were great together. Always a pleasure seeing an old Mia Goth performance. Mia Goth a scene stealer like always. The score was perfect when she flew into that blackhole, hella disorienting and anxious sounding

This is my second Claire Denis film. The other one was Both Sides Of The Blade which I think I enjoyed more although this was more complex. Lighthouse is still the best Pattinson movie I think

I liked this. I was looking for something that fit the valentine's vibe(watched on valentine's day)but also horror and this delivered. It's nothing we haven't seen before story wise but what got me was the execution of it all. Whether it be the weird score, or the weird transitions, scenes lingering for one or two seconds too long lol, all of it was interesting as hell...Good one Shudder

I came across this film after seeking out The Color Of Money. I always hear about Burt Lancaster through The Sopranos podcast and I liked how this movie sounded so I added it. Oddly these two movies ended up being very similar. It was a great two hander considering I just watched Color Of Money a few weeks ago. I think Newman is a better actor but Burt was cookin on that back half.

The jump cut to Lou getting his shoes shined then him coming outside and it being dark cracked me up. He was supposed to do the deal then meet Dave, him having his own little side mission in between killed me lol

I don't know if this is already a thing but this would make a great double feature with The Color Of Money. I'd watch this first then TCOM.

Money, it's always money 🙁

Okay this was cool but after recently seeing Ex Machina a couple months ago(for the first time)it's hard not to compare. That movie kind of blew my mind(acting wise, quality wise, the seriousness of it, everything). And this was just fun, which some things are just fun and that's okay but I guess I wanted a little more grit.....My other issue was Jack Quaid. I recently started watching The Boys which I've been loving(already in Season 3). That's the Jack Quaid I know lol.

After seeing him in Scream 5 and this I'm convinced he just can't play a bad guy, it's not believable at all I'm sorry. Anytime he trys to shift into that gear it always feels like "acting" or a script. He's the guy u wanna see WIN, anything other than that doesn't work......Sophie did her thing tho and idk how I'm just now finding out she from The Chi. I love my people

Huge improvement over 2 for me. Where 2 lacked heart this had a ton of it. I think my Sis actually teared up 👍👍...But yeah this was great. I dug the team work between our core 3(Sonic, Knuckles & Tails), I really enjoyed seeing them work together. Also Knuckles stole the show for me, him being so literal was cracking me up. But I did get a huge laugh out of the B Arthur joke from Sonic in the beginning.....Cool references in this too from the Keanu shit all the way down to how we use to have to blow in Sega/Nintendo games in order to get them to work. Also loved the camera angle they would use when they showed Sonic doing a loopy loop around something, very true to the game, very cool

As a diehard lifelong Sonic fan I was really satisfied with this. I think my biggest gripe would be why did they save Dr.Robotnik?? He had literally just betrayed them by going with his Grandfather, that made no sense lol. Tails could've did his Tails shit and highjacked the ship, they didn't need him.....Anyways, other than that good stuff. I think 1 and 3 are tied for me for different reasons. I kind of like the containment of 1 and I thought they nailed the tone perfectly right out the gate but this was a good "we know all the characters by now and wanna see everybody work together" movie. Sonic 2 might actually be the prettiest one but this had some pretty scenes in it too. 1,3,2 for me at this point

I've never seen Chris Sullivan in anything else but I thought he was doing great work in this, very captivating and believable as a warm loving Father/Husband doing everything he can to keep his family afloat. Great performance I thought, very understated

I honestly kind of dug the lore. Somebody comes and sits the mailbox with all the goodies in there and u the broke down parent at their wits end will take anything u can at this point and won't even question it? I was in.....This has cliché territory but I was invested in both of them(Summer and Major)honestly and this looks much better than these movies tend to look. And people aren't saying this enough but the tape was creepy lol. I mean everytime the show was on it was eerie as fuck. But got damn if that song don't slap 🎼🎼🎼
