I really enjoyed this! Ryan Gosling & Emily Blunt had great onscreen chemistry, it was quite funny, great soundtrack. 

But more than anything, I appreciate folks behind the scenes getting their flowers.

this one really moved me, def one of my favorites now. it’s subtle, powerful, and deeply human. I don’t think my words can do it justice.

As André 3000 said, “Y’all don’t hear me, you just wanna dance”. 

This was a very artistic, symbolic film. I feel like ppl have lost media literacy skills and only take things at face value. Every actor in this performed well, and Abel Tesfaye specifically performed so vulnerably. I’ve followed this project/trilogy from the start, and his creativity is insane. Not only was it a love letter to his fans, but also nuanced commentary on idolization of celebrities, the dark realities of fame, etc.

i hadn’t watched it since i was 10, which i’m absolutely certain i didn’t understand the themes at all lmao. 

i either really liked it or that’s the nostalgia speaking

this had me crying, not gonna lie 🥲 such beautiful performances, costume, music, etc.

this movie was so fun! keke palmer & sza killed it, i love their chemistry. & shoutout to the og, katt williams

original and eerie. the mother/daughter stuff hit hard once it all came together, and i liked the cuckoo bird metaphor. the film was maybe overly ambiguous at times, but still entertaining

this was a really difficult watch. the film depicts the many ways that sexual abuse can impact someone. it doesn’t sugarcoat it or sensationalize it, and some of the scenes made me feel physically ill.

it’s unsettling and brutal — but that’s the reality of sexual abuse. def an important story to be told and worth watching.

this was so good but i wish they didn’t give so much away during marketing/trailers. would’ve made for a better twist!

BORINGGGG. my dad literally fell asleep while watching this, so yea. 

and why would you start making out with your gf while your dad is possessed in the other room?

watched this against my will, but why’d it kinda eat?? a movie about generational trauma, but for kids

what a fun way to tell an important story about losing yourself to motherhood, and then finding yourself again. I do feel like it needed more body horror, but still a good watch.

this was a beautiful story about a psychiatrist who made a career pivot into detective work. it’s never too late to chase your dreams

julia garner did so good! i do wish she swung that axe with more rage. cause rage is what i felt watching entitled men get drunk and do whatever the fuck they felt like to women. 

so moral of the story, never visit australia folks

contrary to the popular opinion, i liked this. 

christopher abbott’s performance and gradual transformation was *chef’s kiss* — it added a layer of grotesque body horror. 

i also liked that there was some depth to the film, with undertones of generational trauma. while it was a teensy bit cringe at moments, it still worked for me. 

it wasn’t just a movie about a monster, but about what makes a monster.

reneé rapp, auli'i cravalho, jaquel spivey — iconic 

but tbh, it just wasn’t giving mean. let’s bring back insults like “your mom’s chest hair” 🥲

Robert Eggers’ choice to stay faithful to Nosferatu’s roots paid off — it’s a hauntingly beautiful homage. 

It had a very timeless feel, so I can def see this becoming a classic in the years to come

don’t come for me but… megan fox has no range. there, I said it. all of her acting is the same — stiff and boring.

hilarious and the soundtrack was so good! it was fun and nostalgic, but some of the references weren’t accurate to that era. overall, i enjoyed it.

two things i hated in this film: 1) plot holes and 2) spoon-feeding the twist to the audience. oh and the acting was subpar at best, so i guess that’s three things i hate. 

but boy, was i entertained!

the juice is loose

it’s a beautiful film about the nuanced relationship between a parent and child. Roz attaining sentience when she didn’t think she could was so sweet. 

lovely watch for kids and adults alike

I still feel like I’m being generous with my rating. they handled the topic of domestic abuse so poorly, in the film and during marketing. 

also, why are we casting someone nearly 40 to play a 23-year-old? weird

i love the trilogy, but this story was the weakest. it felt cheap compared to its predecessor and relied too heavily on nostalgia/aesthetic.

you know when someone has a baby and it’s lowkey kinda ugly and looks like an alien, but you say it’s cute to be polite? yeah.

James McAvoy, you’re too good at playing a villain. 

very unsettling, very great acting. it did feel like a familiar concept, but overall it was good.

i wanted to love this based on the book series, but it fell short. joey king’s acting is also just not believable at all, to the point of being distracting.

clocked the killer in the first 5 minutes, but overall it was fun. i love a corny 2000’s-themed slasher film

i think it was a weird and creative exploration of identity, rebirth, and autonomy. plus, it celebrates a woman’s freedom to explore and express her sexuality. we love to see it

very twisted, hedonistic, and made me cringe a lot. so naturally, i loved it

Short Term 12 holds a special place in my heart. for anyone who desires connection and belonging but struggles to find/accept it.

my goal is to one day watch this film without crying

it beautifully and heartbreakingly captures the reality of systemic injustice. it’s a hard watch, but a good one.

so many angsty vampires. it’s moody, filled with existential dread, kinda charming, and maybe just a little dragged out

this film had great commentary on gender dysphoria and identity, in a really raw and unsettling way.

it’s def the kind of film where you’ll find new details and interpretations in each rewatch
